Continue Reading2020 SEASON RECORD: Conference record 3-5, overall record 8-16. The Rockets’ season came to an end in a Class 1A – Region 2 First Round match against Woodbine where they duked it out in a 5 set showdown that they lost 3-2. They lost the first set 25-21, won the second set 25-21, won the third set 25-15, then lost the fourth set 25-18, before finally succumbing in the fifth set 15-11.
GRADUATED:
Bridget Cameron (MH)
Cameron played in all 74 sets for the Rockets in the 2020 season and had 1 assist, 57 kills, 4 blocks, 46 digs, and 29 service aces with an 88.4% serve efficiency.
Jadeyn Smith (MH)
Smith played in all 74 sets for the Rockets in 2020 and contributed 5 assists, a team-high 2.3 KPS(169), a team-high 39 total blocks, 1.5 DPS(111), and 15 service aces with a 93.5% serve efficiency.
Sara Schurke (S)
Schurke played in all 74 sets in 2020 for the Rockets and had a team-high 3.4 APS(255), 1.0 KPS(71), 1 block, 1.1 DPS(80), and a team-high 45 service aces with a 90.0% serve efficiency.
Hannah Kraus (L)
Kraus played in every set in 2020 for the Rockets and produced 2 assists, 1 kill, a team-high 2.4 DPS(176), and 15 service aces with an 89.0% serve efficiency.
Also graduated from the Rockets’ roster is Maris Cameron (MH).
Every team-high stat was produced for the Rockets in the 2020 season by the seniors listed above. There are at least three returning players to the Rockets’ roster that can help produce some of what they lost to graduation and let’s see who they are below.
RETURNING PLAYERS:
Maggie Ragaller (2022, S)
Ragaller played in 71 of 74 sets for the Rockets in the 2020 season and contributed 1.8 APS(129), 54 kills, 5 total blocks, 1.5 DPS(107), and 19 service aces with an 86.0% serve efficiency.
Jamie Hausman (2022, OH)
Hausman played in all 74 sets for the Rockets and produced 63 kills, 2 total blocks, 1.6 DPS(119), and 18 service aces with a 92.1% serve efficiency.
Kora Obrecht (2022, OH)
Obrecht played in all 74 sets for the Rockets in 2020 and contributed 6 assists, 1.0 KPS(73), 14 total blocks, and 13 digs.
Also returning for the Rockets in the 2021 season will be Timberlen Koch (2022, S) andDelaney Schurke (2023, DS).
It looks like the Rockets already have a new setter they were breaking in last season and a couple of hitters they were getting experience on the varsity stage prior to the beginning of the 2021 season. I would bet they will be ready when the season gets here. Good luck, Rockets!
