First up is the outside hitters, which is a very deep group of D1 prospects. It would be hard to find a stronger group of outside hitters than this one.
1. Harper Murray Harper Murray 6'2" | OH Skyline | 2023 State #2 Nation MI , Skyline/Legacy: Murray remains one of the most talented this state has ever seen and could go down as the best when all is said and done. Murray recently committed to Nebraska and can now focus her attention on a strong fall season with Skyline.
2. Nina Horning Nina Horning 6'5" | OH Lake Orion | 2023 State #50 Nation MI , Lake Orion/Legacy: Horning has a lot of big-match experience through her time with Lake Orion and Legacy and it’s making her a complete player. Horning has the size (6’3”), the athleticism and the work ethic to be truly special.
3. Sarah Vellucci Sarah Vellucci 6'0" | OH Novi | 2023 State #97 Nation MI , Novi/Legacy: Vellucci could also fit in in the libero category, but that just speaks to her all-around talent. She’s proven to be one of the best defenders in the area through club season, but also has great ability to finish at the net as a hitter for Novi.
4. Remi Madison Remi Madison 5'9" | OH Grand Blanc | 2023 State MI , Grand Blanc/Michigan Elite: Madison is an ever-improving player that brings a lot of thunder to her swings. She’s got the athleticism to fly around the court and be impactful defensively as well.
5. Paige Giehtbrock Paige Giehtbrock 6'0" | OH Clarkston | 2023 State MI , Clarkston/Michigan Elite: Giehtbrock really has exploded in the last year, showcasing a lot of pop in her attacks. This year will be a big one for her as she moves to being a featured outside during the prep season.
6. Kennedy Arp Kennedy Arp 6'0" | MB South Christian | 2023 State MI , South Christian/FaR Out: Arp has had the luxury to play up for FaR Out 18 Black during the club season. That’s been a great education for Arp on the court and in practice. It should pay dividends over the next year as she plays with more confidence.
7. Kennedy Louisell Kennedy Louisell 6'0" | OH Forest Hills Northern | 2023 State #140 Nation MI , Forest Hills Northern/FaR Out: Louisell does a good job of letting the play come to her. She is able to work different arm angles while quickly transitioning from defense to attack.
8. Sarah Dunn Sarah Dunn 5'10" | OH Forest Hills Central | 2023 State MI , Forest Hills Central/FaR Out: Dunn had a sizable rule with FHC as a sophomore and has since built on her game playing for FaR Out. Her finishing percentages have improved throughout the last year and she’s finding her groove in the back row.
9. Katie Smith Katie Smith 6'0" | OH Utica Eisenhower | 2023 State MI , Eisenhower/Legacy: Smith could be in for a breakout preseason as she moves into a featured role after being behind some elite hitters last fall. Smith plays bigger than her 6-foot frame and she can really bring the heat at the net.
10. Kiley Ridenour Kiley Ridenour 5'9" | OH Traverse City Central | 2023 State MI , Traverse City Central/Northshore: Ridenour has a lot of tools to bring to the court. Her serve has been a big strength, as has her consistent serve receive. As she continues to be more consistent with her attacks, she can become a dominant player for TC Central.
