These Oklahoma athletes have waited long enough to enjoy some recognition for being such great volleyball players. These young ladies are ready to take the court by storm now that high school volleyball is back on for a full season. They just finished their club seasons and we have some updates on how it went. We couldn’t be happier to give them kudos for their hard work as we announce their placement on the Prep Dig State Rankings List.
Holly Ford Holly Ford 5'10" | RS Carl Albert | 2023 State OK [2023] 5-10 Outside (HS: Carl Albert/Club: Oklahoma Charge/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Holly is currently ranked as our 13th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is one of the exciting pin attackers for Carl Albert High School and plays for one of the best club programs in the state in Oklahoma Charge. She is a true six-rotation player who has phenomenal ball control in every aspect of the game. What helps is the fact that she is a solid beach player also. It takes extraordinary ball control in order to play sand well and Miss Ford showcases that. Her offense is great and she scores a lot for her high school squad. Holly has been a standout star for them since she burst onto the scene and she is not stopping anytime soon. She is a very versatile player who can attack from either side of the net. Schools will love the fact that she is able to come around and hit second tempo out of the middle during play-sets. She should have a great junior season for Carl Albert and we will be watching closely. We are excited to have her in the Oklahoma Prep Dig State Rankings. Please congratulate her on achieving the recognition of her hard work.
Madelyn Onan Madelyn Onan 5'10" | OH Edmond Memorial | 2023 State OK [2023] 5-10 Outside (HS: Edmond Memorial/Club: Oklahoma Peak Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Madelyn is currently ranked as our 14th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Edmond Memorial High School and also club volleyball for the nationally recognized Oklahoma Peak Performance program. We were lucky enough to watch her in person this summer at USA Nationals in Vegas and we loved what we saw. This young lady has what it takes to move up the rankings soon as she possesses explosive fast twitch leg muscles that propel her off of the ground high and very quickly. The most compelling aspect of her abilities is that she is able to transition from the left side and right side pins so well without any adjustment period. People don’t realize how difficult it can be to judge timing sine the ball has to cross over your entire body while hitting out of the opposite position. Madelyn makes it look so easy. The lightning quick arm swing that she has is on full display as she murders the ball down the line with authority. We have our eyes on this young lady and fully expect her to move up the rankings. We are proud to have her in the Rankings and look forward to covering her. Please help us congratulate her on being one of the top players in the State of Oklahoma.
Layla Lenex Layla Lenex 6'0" | MB Charles Page | 2023 State OK [2022] 6-0 Middle (HS: Charles Page/Club: Virago/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Layla is currently ranked as our 15th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a beast middle for Charles Page High School and plays club for the great Virago club. She has great size and great power to hit out of the middle but where she scores a lot of her points is through her court vision. She is able to see the double block in front of her and send an off speed ball to zone four to stifle the defense. Layla also patrols the net well and is able to score well with overpasses for her squad. I like the power at which she swings with during the one and a half tempo sets she receives. She understands her route tree well and wen to move toward the thirty-one zone when the pass is a little out of system for her setter. We are excited to have her in our Prep Dig Family and look forward to watching her junior season. Please help us congratulate her on the honor she just earned.
