There is plenty of talent in this league. So, lets a deeper dive in the league with the favorites, dark horses and players to watch.
Last Season
Conference play was a four-horse race a season ago between Oakcrest, Cedar Creek, Mainland and Absegami. Remember, the teams played a different number of games and I would expect it to continue but based on winning percentage, Cedar Creek was the top squad.
Favorites
Cedar Creek
Cedar Creek is in a very usual position which is being one of the favorites in conference. Last years squad was on the younger side but with basically everyone returning, this team will be right there and be a major player not just in conference. A very deep squad that can beat you in every phase.
Absegami
In the spring season, we thought Absegami was going to be a major player. The team did lose a bunch of seniors last season. But now with everyone returning, the team will be just as good if not better than in the spring. Absegami will be right there once again in the Cape-Atlantic League.
Dark Horses
Mainland
A team that continues to get better and better every year especially in the spring where they made a massive jump into CAL contention. Now, the final hurdle is being face-to-face with those at the top and overcoming that obstacle. The team is going to be a senior-oriented squad so this is a great opportunity for them to surprise some people.
Pleasantville
A squad that many could say had a down spring season but many of their players got some significant playing experience. The team should have the team chemistry necessary to be back towards the top of the conference. The team may be young but they have talent all-over.
