With that in mind, we’re starting a series that will highlight some of the most promising Washington players according to their positions and regions. Our focus today will be on the Kent area and here are some extremely promising middle blockers from that region.
Kristeen Copeland – HS: Auburn Riverside – Club: DaKine Warriors – 2022
A powerful middle blocker for both high school Auburn Riverside and her club team DaKine Warriors, Kristeen ‘Krisee’ Copeland gets to impact the game in many different ways. She’s obviously a big force at the net, hitting a quick set in the middle and providing a strong blocking presence, but is also a great server, who often puts opponents in trouble from the service line. Copeland has recently committed with the Westminster College.
Zoe Faull Zoe Faull 6'0" | MB Tahoma | 2022 WA – HS: Tahoma – Club: North Pacific Juniors – 2022
A State champion with Tahoma in her sophomore season in 2019, Zoe Faull Zoe Faull 6'0" | MB Tahoma | 2022 WA has substantially improved her role with the team over the years. At 6’1”, she is extremely long and uses her tremendous wingspan to dominate the net on offense and defense, especially because of her aggressive playing style. She’s a key player for both the Lady Bears and her club team North Pacific Juniors.
Anuhea Lopez Anuhea Lopez 5'10" | MB Kennedy Catholic | 2022 WA – HS: Kent-Meridian – Club: North Pacific Juniors – 2022
Anuhea ‘Anu’ Lopez is a physical and versatile prospect that can play anywhere at the net. A six-footer, she’s mostly used in the middle but is a powerful hitter from either the right or the left. Lopez brings a lot of energy to the game and is hard to stop because of her tremendous reach. Her blocking game is also a factor as she’s very attentive to the game and moves well at the net.
