Prep Dig Power Rankings: New Teams Enter the Fray

<p>Two weeks of the high school season is officially in the books and it did not disappoint. We had top matchups, upsets and more. So it’s time to release a new edition of the Prep Dig Power Rankings. And we did have some shakeups this week. So who are the new squads that have entered the list? Let’s take a closer look. </p> <ol> <li><em><strong>Immaculate Heart </strong>(4-0)</em></li> <li><em><strong>East Brunswick</strong></em> <em>(4-0)</em></li> <li><em><strong>Bogota </strong>(4-1)</em></li> <li><em><strong>North Hunterdon </strong>(8-0)</em></li> <li><em><strong>Williamstown </strong>(7-0)</em></li> <li><em><strong>Hudson Catholic </strong>(5-0)</em></li> <li><em><strong>Demarest </strong>(4-0)</em></li> <li><em><strong>Northern Highlands </strong>(4-0)</em></li> <li><em><strong>Sparta </strong>(8-0)</em></li> <li><em><strong>Roxbury </strong>(5-1)</em></li> </ol> <p>There has been some shakeup towards the bottom of the Prep Dig Power Rankings with three new squads entering the fray. The top seven squads all held serve this week with solid performances. </p> <p>Three new squads enter the rankings for the first time this season in Northern Highlands, Sparta and Roxbury. Southern, Verona and Tenafly have all dropped from the rankings. </p> <p>Northern Highlands is a squad that is yet to drop a set early-on this season. They did have some significant turnover from a year ago but their all-around player, [player_tooltip player_id="99871" first="Ruby" last="Van Der Heide"] returned. They will go as far she can take them.</p> <p>Sparta is a team that is doing just fine without [player_tooltip player_id="99815" first="Mackenzie" last="Wiggins"] as they are off to a ravishing 8-0 start. Its more of an offense by committee style making them a bit more difficult to keep up with because any player on any given day can be the top option.</p> <p>Lastly, we have Roxbury who is off to a solid start with their only loss coming to Sparta. The team is extremely balanced offensively and defensively with a star setter in [player_tooltip player_id="128677" first="Lorie" last="Horta"] leaving her fingerprint on every play of the match. </p>
