Continue ReadingThe offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and have been also hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Briana Bailey [2022] 5-11 Right Side/Middle (HS: Round Rock/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: University of North Texas)
Briana is currently unranked in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Round Rock High School and a great Austin Performance club. This young lady has been recognized as an athlete of the week so far this season due to her high level efficient offense for her varsity squad. She is one of the main reasons why RRHS is 28-9 overall and 5-0 in district so far. She has tallied 259 kills on a very efficient .357 hitting percentage and the season isn’t done yet. The way she reads the defense is second to none. I haven’t seen a more disciplined blocker patrolling the net like her. High-level coaches talk about negative footwork a lot which means unnecessary footsteps in the action of the position. She has very little negative footwork when you watch her read the opposing offense and set up to stop the hitter. If you have a chance to watch her play, I suggest you check it out.We are happy to write that she recently committed to playing at the next level with University of North Texas. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing volleyball at the next level. And stay tuned for more coverage of this young lady soon.
Arianna Mongare [2022] 6-0 Middle (HS: Mansfield Legacy/Club: Texas Advantage /Verbal: University of Tulsa)
Arianna is currently unranked in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays at Mansfield Legacy high school and also for Texas Advantage Volleyball out of the North Texas Region. She recently committed to playing volleyball at the University of Tulsa. So far in her senior year she has tallied 262 kills on a .258 hitting percentage. She has also accumulated 47 blocks, 251 digs, and also 379 service receptions. Miss Mongare has tons of power in her right arm that she uses to score on both high tempo sets and quick tempo sets. There are some times this season that she has been unstoppable. Tulsa will definitely benefit from both the length in her arms on the defensive end and also the raw power that she possesses. We are proud of her and we hope that each of you congratulates her on the accomplishment of playing at the next level.
Alyssa Manitzas Alyssa Manitzas 5'2" | DS/L Cornerstone | 2023 State #85 Nation TX [2023] 5-1 Libero (HS: Cornerstone Christian/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Notre Dame)
Alyssa is currently ranked as the 4th best player on our 2023 Prep Dig State Rankings. She is still listed as the number 1 libero in the state. We have written about her a couple of times and we said the following, “Though only a sophomore, Alyssa plays like a senior. I have watched her personally in a tough match and believe me when I tell you that this one is a gamer. She never gets rattled no matter the opponent or the score. For a younger player to be as cool, calm, and collected as she is during a big match says everything about her future. This young lady is destined for greatness on the court and in life. As far as her skill-set is concerned she excels on both the defensive side of the ball and in serve reception. I love two things about her technique the most. The spacing and control of her platform while playing the ball allow her to create amazing angles to deliver to her setter. The second thing I love is her footwork. She is always balanced while moving without the ball and it helps during contact. Alyssa is extremely skilled and solid. While the oohs and aahs happen for the big swings, every college coach will drool over her play if they see her in person. I will be watching her career on the court very closely. We are excited to see her club team this season. Everything that was written is true and the scary part is she is only getting better with more time and experience. She has the work ethic and great parents/support system to keep her head in training and not let the top libero spot get to her. I know she will only continue to keep working on her craft. Her and her Alamo team are preparing for USA Nationals as they are qualified and want to again solidify themselves as one of the best teams in the country in their age group.” She just recently committed to Notre Dame and they are going to get a stud when she joins them in a few years. We have seen her live a couple of times now and each time it gets better and better. This young lady has nerves of steel and every young libero should watch how she prepares for a match and how she plays the game. She deserves every accolade that she gets over the course of her junior career as there will be no question that she has truly earned it. She is plain and simple one of the best liberos I have ever seen in 22 years of being involved in the sport. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball.
