Breaking Down the D1 Regional Champs Part 4

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The start of sectionals is tonight and there will be some amazing volleyball. The regional champions will all be facing off to advance in the state tournament. Here are the D1 Regional Champions from Sectionals 7 and 8!</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The seedings listed are the team’s seeding in their respective sectional. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oak Creek (#1 Seed)</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oak Creek has some very impactful players this year. They won the Southeast Conference and have a 29-10 overall record. Senior pin hitter <strong>Natalie Erdmann</strong> is nearly unstoppable. She has 242 kills on the season and has a 0.271 hitting percentage. She also leads the team in aces (61) and digs (209). Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="122464" first="Kaitlyn" last="Dohs"]</strong> also has over 200 kills and is one of the top serve receivers on the team. Junior setter <strong>Avery Brieske</strong> runs an efficient offense. She is a consistent and effective setter and also has a very competitive serve. Middle hitter <strong>Mariena Coon</strong> (2022) is hugely successful in blocking and is great at getting big touches on the ball. She also has influence offensively on this team. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Union Grove (#4 Seed)</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Union Grove has played some tough and competitive volleyball this year. They are led on offense by junior<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="91889" first="Sydney" last="Ludvigsen"]</strong> and on defense by libero <strong>Madisyn Henderson</strong> (2023). Other impactful offensive weapons include <strong>Sophia Rampulla</strong> (2023) and <strong>Faith Smith</strong> (2023). Junior Setter <strong>Madison Cimbalnik</strong> runs the offense in all six rotations. She has 680 assists, 228 digs, 69 aces, and 44 kills on the season so far. This team brings a lot of energy and grit to their games. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Franklin (#3 Seed)</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Franklin has been dominating this season. Their only loss in conference play was to Oak Creek and it was a very intense match. They have a 25-18 record overall this season. Seniors <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="81263" first="Jaclyn" last="Dutkiewicz"]</strong> (Committed to UW-Oshkosh) and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="144667" first="Kaitlin" last="Lauer"]</strong> are highly impactful players. Jaclyn sets and hits for the Sabers and is effective in every rotation. Freshman setter <strong>Madison Marx</strong> has earned a lot of playing time this season. She has very good form and is constantly improving on the court. Sisters, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="117345" first="Ella" last="Luoma"]</strong> (Committed to UW-La Crosse) and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="122523" first="Claire" last="Luoma"]</strong> (2024) keep this team alive defensively. This team is gritty and has good chemistry on the court. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Muskego (#2 Seed)</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Muskego is explosive this year. They have 6 athletes with over 100 kills.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="57264" first="Brooke" last="Porter"]</strong> (2022) leads the team at 260 kills and is the go-to hitter for the Warriors. She is also highly impactful on defense, serve receive, and at the service line. Other key offensive weapons include <strong>Carly Thomka</strong> (2023), <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="149582" first="Angelina" last="Schkeryantz"]</strong> (2023), and <strong>Ella Kratochvil</strong> (2023). Setters <strong>Abbi Hassforth</strong> (2022) and <strong>Bella Peterson</strong> (2023) handle it all and keep this offense running smoothly. Libero <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91866" first="Angelica" last="Refinski"]</strong> is highly competitive in the back row. She can be frustrating for opposing hitters as she is scrappy and gets a hand on nearly everything!</span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kettle Moraine (#1 Seed)</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Lasers have a 29-6 overall record and were 7-1 in the highly competitive Classic Eight Conference</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91875" first="Grace" last="Grocholski"]</strong> (Committed to Arizona State for Basketball) is one of their most reliable athletes and one that gets a lot of touches on the ball. She leads the team in kills but also has a huge impact on defense and serve receive as well. Junior middle hitter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="82954" first="Myla" last="Glaser"]</strong> is explosive at the net. She is extremely fast and has a very quick and powerful arm swing. She leads the team in blocks and has a  0.289 kill percentage. Senior pin hitter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="81303" first="Sophie" last="McCormack"]</strong> is another top performer on this team. She has a huge vertical, good power, and great shots. Setter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="57272" first="Rebecca" last="Siedenburg"]</strong> runs this offense well and is very consistent and fast on the court. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wauwatosa East (#4 Seed)</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wauwatosa East has definitely had a great season this year. They have competed at a very high level. Setters <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="144790" first="Eavan" last="Finnerty"]</strong> (2024) and <strong>Leah Leffler</strong> (2022) each bring a lot of value and experience to the court. Freshman pin hitter <strong>Jackie Brown</strong> is efficient and explosive on the outside. She is one of the kill leaders on this team behind senior captain and middle hitter <strong>Olivia Scallon</strong>. Olivia has a 0.431 kill percentage and leads the team in blocks as well. Libero and captain<strong> Lilly Tome</strong> (2023) is an awesome serve receiver. She has 401 service receptions this year and only 17 errors.  </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mukwonago (#3 Seed)</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mukwonago always has a solid program and this year is no different. They are extremely impactful in the middle with senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="81312" first="Abby" last="Savatski"]</strong> (Committed to Winona State) and freshman <strong>Gabriella Pitcel</strong> leading the team in kills and blocks. Both are explosive athletes who utilize a great balance of power and shots to earn points for their team. Setters <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="81304" first="Faith" last="Powers"]</strong> (Committed to William Penn University) and <strong>Abby Winkelman</strong> (2024) move the ball around well. They are hard to read and both have fast hands.<strong> Lexi Kilton</strong> is playing libero this year and is just dynamic across the court. She has great fundamentals and is very fast and scrappy. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wisconsin Lutheran (#2 Seed)</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This team is an extremely high-level volleyball team. They have some incredibly impactful hitters including outside hitter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="144432" first="Kayla" last="Wigley"]</strong> (2022), middle <strong>Chloe Campbell</strong> (2023), and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="149589" first="Hannah" last="Trotter"]</strong> (2023). [player_tooltip player_id="149589" first="Hannah" last="Trotter"] is also a setter on this team and has over 600 assists, 113 aces, and 242 kills. Libero <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91881" first="Katie" last="Goba"]</strong> (2023) is insanely scrappy in the back row. She is fast, aggressive, and gritty. She also is extremely consistent on serve receive. This team has a lot of tempo and momentum in every match they play. </span></p>
