<p>Heading into regional matches next week, who is putting up huge numbers with assists? There are so many great setters in Iowa and the state tournament is where they get to show their best stuff. Let’s look at who is leading things heading into their Regional Tournaments.</p>

<p><strong><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-129626" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2021/02/Jenna-Bentz-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="132995" first="Jenna" last="Bentz"] (2022,S)</strong> of <strong>Burlington-Notre Dame</strong> at this point in time is the most prolific setter of Class 1A. Her team’s record of 32-8 overall and 7-0 in the <strong>SEISC-South Conference</strong> put them at the top of the leaderboard for the 2021 season. Bentz has had 794 assists so far this season putting her at 8.7 APS, with 53 kills and a .214 efficiency, 31 total blocks, 1.9 DPS, and 34 service aces with a 95.5% serve efficiency. It helps immensely having a tremendous middle in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="108426" first="Gabby" last="Deery"], (2023. MH/OH)</strong>.a 6’1" hitter with 4.0 KPS with a .285% efficiency and <strong>Josie Bentz (2022, OH)</strong>, hitting 3.2 KPS with a .269% efficiency. It is a very symbiotic relationship between setters and hitters so Bentz is driving those kills by her hitters all season long. The Nikes begin regional play on October 20th against either English Valleys or Lone Tree in the <strong>Class 1A - Region 7 Quarterfinal</strong> matchup. Nicely done and good luck in regionals!</p>
<p><strong>Kali Nelson (2023, S)</strong> of <strong>Lisbon</strong> in the <strong>Tri-Rivers East Conference</strong> has 772 assists so far this season giving her 9.2 APS, 65 kills with a .312% efficiency, 2.8 DPS(239), and a team-high 53 service aces with a 97.8% serve efficiency. This is her junior season so we should all be able to enjoy her talents for another year. She has been throwing up targets to <strong>Peyton Robinson (2023, OH)</strong> who is hitting 3.3 KPS with a .263% efficiency, <strong>Ava Czarnecki (2024, OH/MH)</strong> who is hitting 3.2 KPS with a .281% efficiency, <strong>Ella Clark (2023, MH/OH)</strong> hitting 2.1 KPS with a .349% efficiency, and <strong>Blair Baltes (2023, RS/MH)</strong> hitting 1.4 KPS with a .216 efficiency. The Lions have a record of 30-5 overall and 6-0 in the Tri-Rivers East Conference and will start regional play against either HLV or Hillcrest Academy on October 20th in the <strong>Class 1A - Region 6 Quarterfinal</strong> in Lisbon. <p><strong>Emma McClintock (2023, S)</strong> of <strong>Gladbrook-Reinbeck</strong> in the <strong>North Iowa Cedar-West Conference</strong> has 730 assists giving her 8.2 APS, 55 kills with a .324% efficiency, 20 total blocks, 1.9 DPS(170), and 11 service aces with a 97.5% serve efficiency. She is another junior setter we can enjoy watching play for another year. She passes out assists to <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135820" first="Ava" last="Wyatt"] (2023, OH/RS)</strong> who has 3.4 KPS with a .216% efficiency, <strong>Megan Cooley (2023, MH)</strong> who is hitting 2.4 KPS with a .388% efficiency, and <strong>Mahayla Olson (2022, OH)</strong> hitting 1.7 KPS with a .137% efficiency. The Rebels have an overall record of 22-12 and a conference record of 3-2 putting them in second place to a 5-0 South Hardin team. They play next on October 18th against <strong>Colo-Nesco</strong> in the <strong>Class 1A - Region 3 First Round</strong> matchup at Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School. Good luck, Rebels! </p>
<p><strong>Peyton Rygel (2023, S)</strong> of <strong>Dunkerton</strong> in the <strong>Iowa Star North Conference</strong> has 664 assists so far this season giving her 8.7 APS, 17 kills, 14 total blocks, 2.6 DPS(201), and 20 service aces with a 93.5% serve efficiency. She dishes out assists to <strong>Mallory Tisue (2023, RS)</strong>, who at 6’ is hitting 3.3 KPS(252) with a .361% efficiency, <strong>Maeson Wolff (2023, OH)</strong> who has been hitting 2.6 KPS with a .234% efficiency, and <strong>Emma Berinobis (2023, OH)</strong> who has been hitting 1.9 KPS with a .222% efficiency. Dunkerton has an overall record of 21-5 and a conference record of 4-2 leaving them in a three-way tie for second place behind Janesville. They begin regional play against Rockford on October 18th in the Class 1A - Region 4 First Round at Dunkerton High School.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-101024" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2020/07/TriCenterVolleyball06292020-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="79277" first="Miranda" last="Ring"] (2022, S)</strong> of <strong>Tri-Center High School</strong> in the <strong>Western Iowa Conference</strong> has 658 assists so far this season, and last week hit her 2000 career assist, giving her 8.1 APS, 74 kills with a .295% efficiency, 34 total blocks, 2.1 DPS(174), and 35 service aces with a 91.1% serve efficiency. Her top targets this season have been <strong>Mikenzie Brewer (2024, MH/OH)</strong> who has been getting 2.4 KPS with a .284% efficiency, <strong>Emile Sorenson (2023, OH)</strong> with 1.9 KPS, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="103726" first="Marissa" last="Ring"] (2022, DS/OH)</strong> with 1.7 KPS and a .172% efficiency, <strong>Preslie Arbaugh (2023, MH/OH)</strong> hitting 1.6 KPS with a .199% efficiency, <strong>Meredith Maassen (2022, RS)</strong> hitting 1.2 KPS, and<strong> Alexis Flaharty (2024, MH/OH)</strong> hitting 1.1 KPS with a .600% efficiency. The Trojans have an overall record of 22-7 and are second in their conference with a record of 7-2. They begin regional play on October 18th against Heartland Christian at Tri-Center.
