Weekend Spotlight: Battle of Heavyweights

<p>As we embark into the weekend, there are some matchups I have my eye on. Some teams are on the rise and taking on some of the best in the state. While there are conference battles along with some matchups you only think you would see in the state tournament. So let’s take a closer look at some matchups that are going to be a must-watch. </p> <p><em><strong>Sparta vs Mendham</strong></em></p> <p>A conference matchup is going to be a battle in the NJAC as Sparta takes on Mendham. This is a rematch from the opening match of the season that did not disappoint as it went the distance with Sparta holding off Mendham 25-13, 18-25, 25-22. </p> <p>Sparta is coming off of their first loss of the season as they were upset by Wayne Valley earlier this week. As for Mendham, they have plenty of momentum coming in winning three straight. It’s not just a battle at the top, but someone’s perfect record will be coming to an end as both are currently 13-0. </p> <p>Williamstown has been tested in recent weeks with as two of their last five matches have gone the distance. On the other side, North Hunterdon has been in cruise control. Two extremely balanced teams that can win in multitude of ways.
