Some of the athletes listed may have played multiple positions on the court, but we have chosen them for the positions that we think they excelled at the most.
We are proud to announce our First Team All State in this article series. We will be posting a few athletes at a time in order to give enough credit to each player. We are very proud of each player and everyone who helped them reach their goals this year. These players are being picked due to their individual performance on their teams this high school season. The first article in this series is devoted to the Setters. These two young ladies are our picks for 1st Team All- State. Let’s meet them.
1st Team All State Selection: Setter
Cameron Turner Cameron Turner 6'0" | S Deer Creek | 2022 State OK [2022] 6-0 Setter (HS: Deer Creek/Club: Oklahoma Peak Performance/Verbal: Southwestern Oklahoma)
Cameron is currently ranked as our 7th best overall prospect and the top setter in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We profiled her in one of our first articles we ever posted this year and here is a little of what she said, “She is the floor general for Deer Creek High School and one of the best club teams in the Sooner state at Oklahoma Peak Performance. She is verbally committed to Southwestern Oklahoma State University to play Division II volleyball for the Bulldogs. She will be a great addition to their roster as she has tons of national level experience while playing at OP2. Miss Turner is a natural born leader as she has always been the captain of her high school and club teams throughout her career. This leadership is exactly what has propelled her to be able to play at the next level. We will be watching very closely as we cover her senior season. Stay tuned to see more coverage of Miss Turner. Please congratulate her on being named one of the best players in the 2022 class.” She played so well this season at Deer Creek and we were able to watch her senior season in which she was awesome. She led her team to a wonderful season in which they made the State Tournament. They eventually fell to the 6A State Champion, but gave them one heck of a fight due to her amazing setting skills. She moves the ball around so well to each of her hitters and can also score as she dumps the ball over on two contacts so smoothly and deceptively. Please help us congratulate Miss Turner on being named 1st Team All-State. She definitely earned it due to her play on the court.
1st Team All State Selection: Setter
Rylee Martin Rylee Martin 5'8" | S Owasso | 2022 State OK [2022] 5-8 Setter (HS: Owasso/Club: Club ONE/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Rylee is currently ranked as the 36th best overall prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Owasso high school and also for Club ONE. This young lady has great size for a setter and is a great leader on and off the court for Owasso. She led her team to the State Tourney and they lost in the first round but that match could have gone either way as they lost in five sets to Bishop Kelley. Watching her set is fun as she has enough strength to push the outside ball from anywhere on the court. The ball comes out of her hands very smoothly and she would be great for a college program if given the chance. We are extremely proud of the work that she has put into her craft and it shows when she is battling with her team. Ry has a lot of athleticism out of the setting position and shows it off when she gets a high pass close to the net and turns her body in the air to jump and attack it out of the blue. Not many setters can give offense to her team like she does. We love the body of work that she showed this year and are proud to announce that she has earned 1st Team All-State. Please congratulate her on the achievement.
