There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles. We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season. As we are funneling into the end of district play and about to head into the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our inaugural Prep Dig Texas All-State Awards. Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences/classes together and pick the best of the best. The 2023 outside hitters we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics. Let’s meet some of the nominees:
Kyndal Stowers Kyndal Stowers 6'0" | OH Guyver | 2023 State #8 Nation TX [2023] 6-0 Outside (HS: Guyer/Club: Texas Advantage Volleyball/Verbal: Baylor)
Miss Stowers is currently ranked as the best overall prospect and best outside on our State Rankings in the 2023 class. She is a fantastic player for Guyer High School and Texas Advantage Volleyball. We wrote about her a few times this past season and here is a little from the articles, “This young lady is the real deal for the Guyer program. Kyndal has all of the tools to be a fantastic outside hitter for the next three years. She will no doubt be a division 1 prospect. She plays for the famed TAV club program that routinely pumps out Div one prospects. This kid has the type of bounce that can’t be taught. She has length in her extremities which allow her to reach over blockers and hit with authority. What I love the most about her is her quickness off of the ground and her ability to move the ball around and score so easily. In my professional opinion, she is one of the best hitters in the state of Texas in the 2023 class and will grow to be even better with more experience under her belt. If you don’t know her name, write it down and get some popcorn because you are in for a treat watching her attack the ball. Kyndall has blossomed into one of the premier outside hitters in the state. She stepped up for the Guyer program this season and handled a lot of the offensive load for them as a sophomore. She filled up the stat book with 288 kills, 30 blocks, and 277 digs. We will be hearing about this young lady for the foreseeable future in the sport of volleyball. We are extremely proud of her as she just showed the nation just how scary good she has gotten. What is scarier is that she is just getting started and still has two more years to improve. The volleyball world is her oyster right now and she is getting hundreds of looks from colleges. There is not a single school that wouldn’t choose her. Stay tuned as we are sure the offers will flood in. Please help us congratulate her team for winning the USAV 16 Open National Championship and her for being named the most valuable player. She just recently committed to national power Baylor University and will be a stud for their program to continue their dominance at the Division 1 level. We loved watching her play in person this summer in Vegas at the GJNC. What stood out was how composed she was at the highest level of competition in her age group. She was unflappable during the tough times that her team needed her the most to help capture the National Championship. Everyone that crowded around her court during each match was in awe of the athleticism that she possesses on the court. Please help us congratulate her on being named the best player in the state of Texas in her grad class.” She has not stopped her dominance on the court and her hitting percentage is a perfect example of just how amazing she is. Kyndal owns the 13th best hitting percentage in the state of Texas amongst all juniors. Her 493 kills on the .317 efficiency has her in the running for an All-State award. She also has 497 digs, 27 aces, and 61 blocks on the year. Please congratulate her on the achievement.
Brooke Bentke Brooke Bentke 6'2" | OH Brenham | 2023 State #112 Nation TX [2023] 6-2 Outside (HS: Brenham/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miss Bentke is currently ranked as the 9th top overall prospect and the 4th best outside in the State of Texas according to our Prep Dig Rankings in the class of 2023. We have profiled her a couple of times already and will likely write a few more articles as she is just tearing it up on the court since we introduced her last summer. We have previously stated, “She is a lengthy six rotation pin hitter who is the “go-to” scorer for her talented Woodlands Revolution club squad. She can light it up with the best of them as she scores at will in a variety of ways. Most players at this age, need almost a perfect set to score. Not Brooke. When the set is inside or off, she can still adjust her approach accordingly and still have the timing to hit with power. She can find the hole in the block, she can swing around it and go line, and she has so much power that she can tool the block at will. Standing at six foot two, she is a towering presence at the net against her opponents. For most tall blockers, they don’t load up much to jump and block. My favorite thing about Brooke is how she still bends her knees and loads up so much to block. This tells me that she has a passion for the game that not many have. Brooke has the potential to move up our rankings very rapidly if she stays on her course. We cannot wait to see how she does in her high school varsity season.” Last month we profiled her once again and updated our readers on her high school season. In that article we said, “She has been nothing short of spectacular since she burst onto the scene for Brenham. She was one of the main reasons they went 19-6 overall and 10-4 in district. The Cubbettes also had a deep run into the UIL State Playoffs due to her play. In only two years on varsity she has amassed a whopping 715 kills, hit an impressive .333 percentage, had 66 blocks, 89 aces, and 621 digs. This young lady will obliterate the record books by the time she is done with her high school career. We will be updating on her Woodlands Revolution club season soon. College coaches already have her on their radar and I’m sure that list is growing for her as they watch what she can do. The scary part for her opponents is that she is only going to get better with more experience. Watch closely as she shoots up our rankings soon. We were not wrong about shooting up the rankings. When we analyzed the growth that she is showing from year to year and even from school season to club season, the growth is phenomenal. We are excited to see what her and her Woodlands Revolution squad will do in Vegas as they have recently qualified for USA Nationals this summer. I don’t think anything can slow this young lady down as she is on fire. Her stock continues to rise based on her play on the court. No one can say that she has not earned every accolade that comes her way. We watched this summer at GJNC and she was phenomenal. It seems that every time she takes the court, she gets better and better. She is still leading her high school team in kills in every match they play. What I loved the most when I watched her this summer in person is the relentless pursuit of the ball in the back row. She is the total package. Now she just joined a phenomenal Houston Skyline program for the coming club year and we couldn’t be more excited. Please help us congratulate her on being named a top ten player in the state of Texas.” Brooke has been super dominant again during her junior season. She finished the year with 535 kills on a .302 hitting percentage. She also had 417 digs, 68 aces, and 45 blocks on the year. She has led Brenham to a 30-14 overall record and 12-4 district record. Her amazing play on the court is one huge reason why they reached the second round of the Texas UIL playoffs this year. Please help us congratulate her on being nominated for an All-State award.
Rylie Barnett [2023] 5-11 Outside (HS: Veterans Memorial/Club: Corpus Christi Force/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Rylie is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 class according to our State Rankings, but that will absolutely change when we update the list soon. Miss Barnett plays for Veterans Memorial high school program and also for Corpus Christi Force out of the Lone Star Region. She has been a wrecking ball this year on the pins as she is currently 4th amongst juniors in the entire state in kills with 621 on a very impressive .354 hitting percentage. Ry also has 273 digs, 62 aces and 52 blocks on the year. She has our eyes focused on her play and every college coach in the country should take notice now. Stay tuned to see if she wins an award and also for later on when we determine where she falls on our rankings during the next update. We are happy announce that she has been nominated. Please help us congratulate her on being named as a candidate for an All-State award.
There are many more amazing players that will be nominated. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes to see who ends up with a chance at one of the prestigious awards.
