For the 4th year, PrepDig returns the Illinois Expo highlighting hundreds of athletes and showcasing their talents in front of college coaches and allowing for them to bring forth their talents and show out on the court.
I am looking to highlight some of our seniors that are going to be in attendance this weekend, to showcase and show farewell to their high school and club level competition in hopes to put their best foot forward and bring all their talent out on the floor for the last time, before they are sent off to their next step.
Danielle Stevens– Kenwood Academy
Stevens is one of the few athletes I have had the ability to see play both during games and watch during skills and drills, and let me say, she remains consistent every single time. Stevens is a a very competitive athlete and does not let anything get in her way. What stood out to me most about Stevens and continues to remain in the back of my mind, is her resilience that she carries and her ability to bounce back. Stevens is a strong minded player and no matter the situation, whether it be a game loss or an injury, she always manages to snap back and bring full force out on the court.
Gianna Basile– Bradley Bourbonnais
As we say our final farewell to Basile, the 5’7″ senior has definitely had some of the best talent and athleticism tucked under her belt. Basile has had a career of 209 sets played with 808 digs and 717 serve receptions. Basile is a very defensive and fierce player when it comes to laying out everything on the court and having her head in the game. Basile has started and remained a variety player during her duration with Bradley Bourbonnais and has not let her grip up when she steps foot out onto the court. I look forward to seeing Basile back on the court this weekend, and look forward to her talent and determination on the court.
Gabrielle Bradley– Bradley Bourbonnais
Bradley is a very versatile athlete and manages to be in the right place at the right time. The 5’9″ senior is one that I have not been to familiar of until recently, and I am excited to see what she brings to the table come this weekend. Bradley has been seen on her high school varsity team the last two seasons and has been a tremendous help to leading her team to victory. She has a strong swing and is move frequently and swift across the court when set up perfectly by her setters. I look forward on watching Bradley this weekend.
Kathryn Dean Kathryn Dean 6'3" | MB Tuscola | 2022 State IL – Tuscola High School
Dean is another athlete that I am relatively new in learning about and being able to analyze her playing tactics, however, I can say with the little footage that I have had been able to see Dean is a very strong minded and strong willed player when it comes to getting out on the court and playing the best of her ability. Between her fundamental training and solid foundation, Dean has continuously out proven herself and what she has to offer as a rising elite athlete. I am excited and look forward to watching her this weekend.
