Top Performers at the WIAA State Championships: Middle Hitters

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The middles at the state tournament were, quite simply, incredible. They were dynamic, fast, and impactful. The middles were some of the most impactful athletes on teams across the board. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="81265" first="Alana" last="Dvorak"] - 2022 - Oconomowoc </span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Alana was an energizer on the court for this State Championship-winning team. In fact, I am not quite sure where she finds all of her energy. The way she amped her team up was second to none and it had nearly as much of an impact as her physical play. She has a huge jump and a powerful arm swing. Alana was impactful as a blocker and on offense for this incredibly talented team. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="122475" first="Anna" last="Bjork"] - 2024 - Oconomowoc</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You cannot talk about top performers in the middle without talking about [player_tooltip player_id="122475" first="Anna" last="Bjork"]. She was a key reason that Oconomowoc swept every match of the state tournament. She has a key connection with setter [player_tooltip player_id="122568" first="Lilly" last="Wagner"] and was smart and powerful with her hits. She was also dynamite on the service line and had an amazing four aces in the Division 1 State Championship match. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="82954" first="Myla" last="Glaser"] - 2023 - Kettle Moraine</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Myla has really shown her abilities in the last year. She had a great club season and an even better high school season. In their 5-set thriller against Burlington, Myla had 10 kills and 5 blocks. She is fast, dynamic, and powerful. Her speed and vertical allow her to beat most blocks but she also has a great cut shot for when she is up against a big opponent. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="81253" first="Morgan" last="Daugherty"] - 2022 - Brookfield Central - Committed to Marquette</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Morgan was a huge asset to the record-setting Brookfield Central team. This year was their first-ever trip to state and they made it into the semifinals. She was awesome behind the setter and ran a great slide. She will be fun to watch develop at the collegiate level. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="81259" first="Haley" last="Graetz"] - 2022 - River Falls - Committed to George Mason</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Haley was fearless against a massive Brookfield Central offense. She was a key athlete on this highly successful River Falls team. She was quick and read the opposing setter well. Every time she touched the ball she had success getting the opposing team out of system or earning a kill. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="82915" first="Autumn" last="Flynn"] - 2023 - Luxemburg Casco </span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Autumn is an athlete who only continues growing in her experience and value on the court. She has an insane amount of speed and a high volleyball IQ. She also makes great connections with her setters. Autumn is a very valuable middle hitter and one of the best in her class. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Karli Molnau - 2025 - Lake Country Lutheran</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Karli is a huge offensive asset to this defensively strong team. She was impressive and powerful on the net. She led Lake Country Lutheran in kills in the State Championship match against Howards Grove and caused chaos for the incredibly talented HG defense. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Allison Albrecht - 2025 - Wabeno/Laona</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I was impressed with Allison from the very first point. She was engaged with every point and gritty at the net. Not only did she have great swings, but she also used tips and shots to her advantage as well.
