These rankings are heavily weighed based on CIF and state playoff results. Except in a rare instance, a team will not be ranked ahead of a team it lost to in CIF or state. There may be an example of a team losing to the same opponent in CIF then beating that team in state and in that instance the state victory usually takes precedent. We tried hard to follow the results chain as closely as possible but in a sport like volleyball with tournament play during the regular season, those results can create more questions than answers. We start with teams 46-50 below.
46. Beckman (28-16, Southern section)
Season Highlight(s): Pacific Coast League Champions; CIF Southern Section Division 2 Quarterfinalist (lost to La Salle); CIF State Division 2 Round 2 (lost to Newport Harbor)
Key Graduates: OH Emerson Wilford; OH Chloe Bristow; L/DS Chloe Lee
Key Returners (grade this fall): RS Camryn Hayek (Soph); S Joy Lee (Soph); S Victoria Turner (Soph); MB Brea Hardy (Jr); MB Bella Galentine (Jr); MB Emily Kyle (Jr)
2022 Outlook: The Patriots have a young returning core that should keep the team on the same competitive level. One capable of making another push in CIF and perhaps a little deeper run in state. It will require someone to step up and fill the void left by the departure of Wilford at outside.
47. Tesoro (20-13, Southern)
Season Highlight(s): Sea View League Champions; CIF Southern Section Quarterfinalist (lost to Huntington Beach); CIF State Division 2 Quarterfinalist (lost to Carlsbad)
Key Graduates: OH Ava Anderson; OH

2022 Outlook: Bringing back the majority of the team’s roster should have the Chargers on the rise. Whether that means attempting to defend their Division 3 Southern Section title or jumping to the next division, we’ll see next year.
49. Venice (49-4, LA City)
Season Highlight(s): CIF LA City Section Open Division 1 champion; Western League champ; CIF State Division 2 Round 2 (lost to Carlsbad)
Key Graduates: OH Daniella Kensinger; MB Rain Martinez; S Logan Takahashi; RS/MB Arianna Flournoy
Key Returners: L/DS Tinoa Woodward-Hart (Soph); OH Biko Hollie (Jr)
2022 Outlook: Venice saying goodbye to the majority of its starting lineup will force a different look next fall.
50. Alemany (21-9, Southern)
Season Highlight(s): CIF Southern Section Division 4 champion; CIF State Division 2 Round 1 (lost to El Toro)
Key Graduates: n/a
Key Returners: OH London Wijay (Soph); RS/MB Havyn Rolle (Soph); S Kyla Firestone (Soph); MB Victoria Filippova (Soph); L/DS Makaila Atkins (Soph)
2022 Outlook: The core of the Warriors is sophomores, so obviously that bodes well for next season. With familiarity and confidence from winning the sectional title this season, Alemany may have to fight in a higher division next fall but will be equipped to do so.
