Players drove from Houston, San Antonio, Amarillo, Austin, Oklahoma, and all around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area to test their skills and showcase their talents amongst some of the state’s best players to college coaches and our scouts. The following players stood out to us and should be given a look or two from many colleges. This next volume will cover some amazing liberos that attended.
Jordyn Tynsky Jordyn Tynsky 5'8" | DS/L Guyer | 2024 State #65 Nation TX [2024] 5-8 Libero (HS: Guyer/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We currently have her ranked as the 5th best prospect overall and the top libero in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She now plays for Guyer high school and Drive Nation volleyball club. She is one player that I have been keeping close tabs on because of who she is. I have heard some amazing things about her from coaches, parents, and players over the past year and a half. We were anxious to get her into the gym to see her in person for ourselves. I can honestly say that she did not disappoint one bit. I have watched tons of video and analyzed her play quite extensively but seeing her in person gives you another perspective. Her range is something that is out of this world. There is not a ball that will land anywhere near her zone while she is in the back row. This kid is a defensive wonder and any coach would love to get a crack at coaching a player that is this ready to sprawl out on the floor for the needs of the team. Being a libero is a thankless job sometimes, but so necessary to any championship level team. She is the best libero in the age group for a few reasons and when you watch her in person it is very apparent why. There were many high fives, tons of hand shakes and lots of smiles going around in the gym last Sunday at the Expo. There was only one hug that occurred. And wouldn’t you know it…it came from the huge warm heart of Jordyn. Any college coach who gets to meet her will know that this is one player that will jump off the page at you, but she is even more special as you get to know her as a person. Stay tuned for more on Miss Tynsky as we will be watching closely.
Bella Briceno Bella Briceno 5'5" | DS/L Hays | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-5 Libero (HS: Hays/Club: Roots/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Bella is currently ranked as the 117th best overall prospect according to the 2023 Prep Dig State Rankings. This young lady wowed her court coaches with her serve receive and her ability to set the out of system ball. She has hands like a setter and understands angles when setting with her platform after the setter digs the first contact. She came over and introduced herself at the end of camp and it was great to meet her in person. She is now playing for Roots volleyball and also for Hays High School. Bella is a prototypical libero that is on a trajectory to help any college roster succeed. When I watched her play on Sunday I noticed how she is able to angle her platform well on serve receive no matter which side the ball is served on. Give this kid a look or two and you wont be disappointed.
Faith Taylor [2022] 5-5 Libero (HS: A&M Consolidated/Club: Woodlands Revolution/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Faith is currently an unranked prospect in the state, but what I saw this past weekend showed me that she can play at the next level. She is a fantastic libero from A&M Consolidated High School. She stepped into a large role this past season for her varsity squad and amassed 273 digs and 404 service receptions during her senior season. Miss Taylor has earned 2nd team all-district and academic all-state this year. We ran a competitive cauldron for serve receive at the expo and she excelled in it. Her court coaches told me that she had such a natural soft touch on every ball that came her way. This allows her to deliver a consistent good ball to her setter. We will be watching very closely to see where she lands. If any school needs a solid libero who excels in serve receive, look no further than Miss Taylor.
There are more volumes of liberos that stood out from what I saw at the Expo. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes.
