Prospect Rankings: Five 2023 Additions

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="169493" first="Jocelyn" last="Jourdan"]</strong> - 6’2 | OH | Austintown-Fitch<br />
At 5.3 kills per set during the 2021 high school season, Jourdan produced big offensive output with over 400 kills this past fall. She is one of the highest newly ranked prospects in this class at #18. She is a physical pin attacker with good size. She can create a good contact point above the net with ability to generate a lot of pace on the ball with the power she can produce upon contact. Jourdan is effective at both pins and through quicker tempos and attack points inside. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="169490" first="Kate" last="Sherman"]</strong> - 6’1 | OH/MH | Russia<br />
A Division IV all-Ohio honorable mention selection, Sherman had a big season on the offensive side of the ball. She led the Raiders at 3.0 kills per set terminating the ball 281 times in 2021. She can score from the pin and as a middle to vary her attack points and options. With good vision of the space in front of her, she can move the ball around effectively with good range and power. She led her team in total service aces and contributed well on the defensive side as well with 7.0 digs and 2.1 blocks per match. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="169487" first="Sammy" last="Barther"]</strong> - 5’9 | RS | Independence<br />
Barther arrives in the rankings at #74 overall. She recently helped Independence to a Division III state runner-up finish in 2021. She hit .219 on the season while averaging just shy of two kills per set as part of a very balanced offensive unit. She also averaged 5.3 digs per match. Barther has helped the Blue Devils to the state championship match in consecutive seasons while amassing over 400 kills in her high school career over that span. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="169496" first="Nicole" last="Russell"]</strong> - 5’10 | MH | Oletangy Liberty<br />
The Patriots advanced to the Division I state championship match but fell just short in a 3-1 loss. Russell was one of four teammates to average over two kills per set as she hit at a .287 clip for the season. She was a big factor on the defensive side as well averaging 2.5 blocks per match. She is an active middle in transition and works well to get herself off the net and available to swing. She enters the rankings at #114</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="169494" first="Alana" last="Amato"]</strong> - 5’9 | MH | Wellsville<br />
With 348 total kills on the season, Amato averaged 3.9 kills per set while hitting .313 to help lead the Tigers to a 27-1 overall record and an appearance in the Division IV regional finals round. She was named to the all-Ohio team as an honorable mention selection. She also averaged 1.7 blocks and 6.4 digs per match while serving up 92 aces on the season. She enters the 2023 rankings at #124.</p>
