The event will feature four different legs between January and March and will provide a tremendous opportunity for younger prospects in the region to showcase their games as the Power League has received nearly 500 entries in each of its five divisions.
The 15 Club division is the one expected to have the highest level as several of the prospects we’ll be able to watch have already made some noise during the last high school season. Over the next few days, we’ll highlight some of the prospects in the division you should keep an eye on and today it’s time we present some of the most promising middle blockers.
Bayleigh Minor – Skyline 15 Royal – HS: Fort Bend Christian – 2025
A track and field star with a gold at the AAU Junior Olympics under her belt, Bayleigh Minor has been thriving on volleyball courts as well. A six-footer, she uses her unparalleled athleticism extremely well and has immediately become a force at the net for her high school team Fort Bend Christian. She was instrumental to the team’s victory at the TAPPS 5A Division with the team’s top killing rate (45%), the most blocks (65) and the second-best mark in kills (254). Minor started playing volleyball in 2020 and still has tremendous room for improvement, but she’s already a really impactful player.
Jordan Taylor – HJV 15 Elite – HS: Langham Creek – 2025
Jordan Taylor left a great impression in her freshman season with Langham Creek because of both her overall production and her efficiency. The 6’4” middle blocker ended the campaign with 267 kills and 110 blocks and did that with a fantastic 45.1% killing rate. Taylor is tall and very long but also has a very well-developed game that helps her dominating the net. She’s very reliable offensively, mostly due to her size, but also displays great volleyball IQ when reading plays and making decision when blocking.
Sydney Bryant – HJV 15 Elite – HS: George Ranch – 2025
Getting some playing time in a stacked George Ranch team during the last high school season would be a success for any freshman, but Sydney Taylor not only did that but also became an important piece for the Longhorns. Her 6’3” frame and her impressive mobility made of Bryant a noticeable presence at the net, as she was on the court in 88 of the team’s 122 sets. The freshman also produced well, ranking second in blocks with 102 and fifth in kills with 68. Playing alongside such talented teammates has certainly sped up her developing process and expect Bryant to continue improving at a very fast pace.
