The Premier Volleyball League out of Southern California is in full blast mode. A week after the 18s and 16s divisions conducted Tournament 1, it was the 15s and 17s age groups going at it for their first tournament of the four-tournament schedule. Prep Dig was on hand for both Saturday and Sunday action. Below, we list six top attackers from the 17s that we witnessed.

[player_tooltip player_id="161445" first="Julia" last="Blyashov"], OH, Wave 17 Julianna – Having Blyashov as an option is such a weapon for Wave as she showed off her elite attacking ability. She has a high contact point and can jump well, making it very difficult on blockers as she can simply go over their hands at times. She’s also a force out of the back row so she’s always putting pressure on the defense.

[player_tooltip player_id="160016" first="Claire" last="Little"], OH, Coast 17-1 – With Little and Blyashov on the same court Saturday it was a true treat for volleyball fans. Both are next-level talents and Little did her part with her smooth-swinging attacking. She’s also a force from the service line, just adding to the ways she can pressure the defense.

Ameena Campbell, OH, Mizuno Long Beach 17 Rockstar – There’s an explosiveness to Campbell’s game. She leaps very well and gets off the ground quick. Combined with a fast swing she’s a handful and can attack out the back row as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="161479" first="Eva" last="Travis"], OH, Tstreet 17 Naseri – Travis brings plenty of offense to the lineup. She has springs for legs and gets up nicely. She has a strong arm and can hurt defenses with a variety of shots so they must track her at all times.

[player_tooltip player_id="162759" first="Zoey" last="Henson"], OH, Seal Beach 17 Black – Henson is another outside that has a bounce to her attack. She gets off the ground easily and has a strong, aggressive attack but can mix in off speed shots as well. She also plays solid defense in the back row to compliment her offensive play.

Kylie Tengberg, OH, Legacy 17 Pyramid – There’s a certain physicality to Tengberg’s game. It can catch defenses off guard until they get used to her heavy ball.
