As we continue to work through the Minnesota Rankings, we are finding more and more hidden talent. I honestly think we’ve just scratched the surface and there’s still a plethora of riches to discover here! So let’s keep digging! (Pun intended). Here are some of the new names we’ve added to our 2024 Rankings!

#18 [player_tooltip player_id="174363" first="Ellery" last="Clark"] – 5’6 – Setter – Benilde-St. Margaret’s – M1 16-1s

Clark is an explosive setter who can jumpset just about anything and pump it to the outside. One of my favorite things about Clark is her excitement for her teammates because you can see it’s so genuine and it fuels the fire for the team. Her celebrations are second to none, along with her great depth perception and set placement.

#30 [player_tooltip player_id="174365" first="Izzy" last="Saffert"] – 5’6 – Defensive Specialist/Libero – Benilde-St. Margaret’s – M1 16-1

Saffert played as a defensive specialist this past fall and gained some invaluable experience against some really tough attackers. She can defend from just about anywhere on the court and does a really nice job absorbing a hard driven attack to keep it on her side of the net. It looks like she also got some time in the front row making her a more versatile player.

#38 [player_tooltip player_id="174360" first="Makayda" last="Aldrich"] – 6’0 – Middle Blocker – Brooklyn Center – M1 16-1

Aldrich was a bright spot for Brooklyn Center, so I’m really curious to see how she does when surrounded by other experienced players. I think her height and strength will give her an edge, as well as her athleticism. Aldrich could really explode as a player with the right coaching and experience.

#42 [player_tooltip player_id="168255" first="Brielle" last="Riess"] – 5’11 – Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker – Marshall – SWMNVB
Riess has a lot of potential, and after seeing her at the Prep Dig Top 250 in December, I think she could find herself climbing the rankings. She presents a really solid contact, along with a high contact point with good footwork to the ball. And Riess has fire power to blast through most opposing blockers.

#52 [player_tooltip player_id="135286" first="Amya" last="Jennings"] – 5’10 – Pin Hitter – Hopkins – MN Select 16-1

Jennings’ film is really fun to watch because with each swing, you can see her development progressing. Her approach is slow to fast, and her armswing is really fast. Jennings has a great wingspan that allows her to get a really high contact point and solid contact to place the ball just about anywhere she’d like.

#56 [player_tooltip player_id="174735" first="Addeson" last="Jenniges"] – 5’7 – Setter – Westbrook-Walnut Grove – SWMNVB

Jenniges is a gritty athlete and really perfect for the role as a setter. She can get the tight pass with a jumpset, as well as keep a high contact and quick release to feed her hitters fast tempo balls. It’s hard NOT to get excited about her future, knowing she has yet to reach her upperclassman status.

#40 [player_tooltip player_id="174364" first="Nora" last="Gruman"] – 5’10 – Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist – Eastview – M1 16-1

#47 [player_tooltip player_id="174362" first="Brooke" last="Bergevin"] – 5’5 – Defensive Specialist – Eastview – M1 16-2

#50 [player_tooltip player_id="166362" first="Ella" last="Johnson"] – 5’11 – Middle Blocker – Minneota – SWMNVB 16-1

#53 [player_tooltip player_id="174734" first="Sadie" last="Johnson"] – 5’2 – Defensive Specialist/Libero – Estelline-Hendricks – SWMNVB 16-1
