We’ll constantly use this space during the club season to highlight the top performers and this week we’ll feature some of the 16s teams in the Evergreen State that are up to a promising start of the season.
PJVBC 16 National
The top team of the Puyallup Juniors Volleyball Club has been in great form at the start of the season, producing a victory at the PAC NW Series #2 – Evergreen State Showdown and good finishes at both the Puget Sound Region Power League (fifth) and the Matt Hartner Memorial Classic (21st). PJVBC 16 National has an 18-4 win record for the season so far, with a win percentage of 81.8%

Players to Watch:
Chloe Dixon – Outside Hitter – HS: North Thurston – 2024
A 5’11” outside hitter with excellent offensive tools, Chloe Dixon is often PJVBC 16 National’s most used player at the net. She gets off the floor really well and does a great job in fully stretching her arm to make contact with the ball at a very high point. She can hit good angles and is gradually adding more power to her body. Improving her backcourt game would be a nice addition to Dixon’s game as in the last high school season she tallied 105 kills, 27 blocks and 23 aces for North Thurston, but just 27 digs and 29 passes.
Samantha Barajas – Libero – HS: Emerald Ridge – 2024
A dynamic 5’1” defensive player, Samantha Barajas does a good job on PJVBC 16 National’s backcourt. She has excellent positioning and very good ball control and is able to up several balls every match for the team. She didn’t get a lot of playing this past high school season in a strong Emerald Ridge and is making the most of the club season to show all the strengths of her game.
Ashley Harris – Middle Blocker – HS: Black Hills – 2024
A 5’11” middle blocker, Ashley Harris adds some side and net presence for PJVBC 16 National. She has quick feet, which helps her when adjusting to any situation, be it when blocking or hitting. Her offensive game is still coming together but she’s already hard to stop when in-system because of her ability to hit in different directions and straight down. Her blocking game is also developing quickly and she’s already a player opponents want to avoid at the net.
