We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to our prestigious State Rankings. Please welcome them with open arms.
Kea Whillock Kea Whillock 5'8" | DS/L Keller | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-5 Libero (HS: Keller/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We are proud to announce that we have added Kea to the State Rankings officially. She is currently ranked as the 103rd best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Keller High School and for the up and coming Drive Nation volleyball program. I just watched her play in the Volleyfest tournament last weekend and she played amazing. I was also lucky enough to watch her compete in the UIL 6A State Championship match this past high school season in which she helped Keller reach. She is extremely fast on the court and covers all of her hitters very well. I love how she is able to be in the correct position at all times on defense. She has been trained very well and this bodes well for her moving forward in college recruiting, as many coaches would be lucky to have such a coachable player on their roster. Please congratulate her on earning the honor of being named one of the best players in the State of Texas.
Becca Kelley Becca Kelley 6'3" | OH Rockwall Heath | 2023 State #126 Nation TX [2023] 6-3 Outside (HS: Rockwall Heath/Club: Dallas Skyline/Signed: Uncommitted)
We are proud to announce that Becca has earned a spot in the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 106th best overall prospect in the state in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays at Rockwall Heath High School and for the nationally recognized Dallas Skyline volleyball club. Becca is a tall, long and talented outside hitter who has power for days. I feel sorry for the ball once its contacted by her because she has a cannon. Her footwork is one aspect that should attract many college coaches because she is able to fly around the court and cover a lot of ground defensively. That foot speed will also help her recover well while in transition to be ready to attack at all times. Her athleticism alone will be something that college coaches will drool over. Please congratulate her on the honor, as she definitely deserves the acknowledgement of being one of the best in the State of Texas.
Layla Smith Layla Smith 6'3" | MB Atascosita | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-2 Middle/Right Side (HS: Atascocita/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Lamar University)
Please welcome Layla to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 111th best overall prospect in the state in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays at Atascocita High School and for Houston Skyline out of the Lone Star Region. Layla earned 21-6A First Team All-District for volleyball and is also a stud basketball player this year. She is playing right side for Houston Skyline and is dominating as a blocker. It is also very difficult for opposing blockers to slow her down as she reaches so high at contact. We are going to enjoy watching her progress on the volleyball court. Please congratulate her on being named one of the best players in the state.
