With the completion of the Triple Crown NIT in Kansas City, the 18s are back at it fighting for bids to nationals. We have a handful of teams from our states who made the trip to Atlanta. Here is how Day 1 shaped up for these teams.

In the 18 Open Division, Pohaku 18-1 from Kansas had a good opening day going 2-1. They made quick work of USANY in their opening match before escaping in a tight battle with Rev 18-1 Riptide -23, -23. They dropped their last match to OT Felix.
The Liberty Division features six-team pools, stretching pool play out over the course of two days. On the first day, Dynasty 18 Blue had a tough day, dropping all three matches but will look to bounce back on the second day. We will see if Campbell Keller and Madilynne Bruce can help right the ship on the second day of play.

Invasion 18 Black had a better run on the first day in the same division with a 2-1 day, winning the first two matches before dropping a tough third set back and forth with Excel. Look out for [player_tooltip player_id="119217" first="Addison" last="Baumgartner"] and [player_tooltip player_id="150935" first="Alexis" last="Nunn"] to make some impact plays as they continue pool play.

St. Louis, Missouri is represented in the American division and made a good showing on the first day with HPSTL 18 Orange. They got out the gate with a 3-0 day, not dropping a set along the way. We will watch more of their games today and share some standout players.
