The event featured 77 club teams across its three divisions and they competed in three different venues in the area. Our destination was the FAST Complex, where 32 of the 44 teams from the 16s division hit the court on Saturday.
We’ll highlight the top prospects we spotted in the tournament over the course of the week and this article is reserved to some players who might be small in size, but gave giant contributions to their teams:
Kaleigh Frazier – Outside Hitter – Woodlands Revolution 16 Premier – HS: Rosehill Christian – 2024
Kaleigh Frazier is the heart and soul of her Woodlands Revolution 16 Premier team. Standing at just 5’4”, she plays a lot bigger at the net because of her extraordinary athleticism, developed in years of work as a track and field student-athlete. Frazier can not only jump well but is very explosive and can put a lot of power on the ball on offense. She’s also a terrific backcourt player, being extremely reliable on passing and very active on defense, partially because of her excellent quickness.
Hannah Fan – Outside Hitter – Katy United 16 Molten – HS: Taylor – 2024
Hananh Fan’s game is built upon her outstanding technical skills. The 5’6” outside hitter gives her team a lot of volume with her excellent backcourt game. Fan is great with her serve-receiving and is easily one of the team’s top defenders. She uses her well-developed skills very well at the net too, either avoiding the block or tooling it to score, depending on what the situation calls for.
Temi Sam-Olibale – Outside Hitter – Texas Tornados 16 Adidas – HS: Seven Lakes – 2024
Temi Sam-Olibale is pure athleticism and explosiveness on the court. The 5’7” outside hitter can jump out of the gym and uses her physical tools to her advantage as well as anyone on the court. Sam-Olibale combines her ability to make contact with the ball at a tremendously high point with a high volleyball IQ, which allows her to make good decisions and avoid mistakes. She’s also very quick and active on the backcourt, massively contributing to the team’s playing system. Part of a solid and well-respected high school program in Seven Lakes, she produced 139 kills, 216 digs, 486 passes and 21 blocks in the last season.
