Continue ReadingThe first weekend of February brought one of the most anticipated club volleyball tournaments annually held in the state of Texas, the Adidas Lone Star Classic.
This year’s location for the 18s tournament, which served as a qualifier for the 2022 USAV Girls 18s Junior National Championship, was the Austin Convention Center and it attracted as many as 178 teams, including several from other states, across its four divisions.
The teams from the Lone Star State were among the top performers in the tournament, finishing first in all four divisions, and over the last few days, we’ve honored their campaigns, featuring the top two finishers of each division in specific articles.

Texas Pistols 18 Black
The team from the Texas Pistols club located just outside Fort Worth in North Texas topped the 18 USA Division. Pistols 18 Black had a hiccup in the second round, but remained strong to win it all with a campaign of seven wins and just one loss.

An explosive 5’11” prospect, Lillian Bickley Lillian Bickley 5'11" | MB Eaton | 2022 State TX brings a lot of firepower at the net. Mostly used at the pin at the club level, she is a prolific scorer from the left, right, or the middle and can hit quick or up and down sets, offering a lot of flexibility and versatility to her teams. Bickley can jump really high and she puts a lot of energy into her approach. She’s also a very good blocker, moving quickly at the net and taking up a lot of space with her arms. Bickley ranks 138th in our 2022 Prep Dig State Rankings and after producing 292 kills, 33 blocks and 77 digs in the last high school season for Eaton, she has committed to Lubbock Christian.
Paige Mooney Paige Mooney 5'8" | DS/L Eaton | 2022 State #131 Nation TX – Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist – HS: Eaton – 2022
A 5’9” outside hitter with a solid defensive game, Paige Mooney Paige Mooney 5'8" | DS/L Eaton | 2022 State #131 Nation TX provided a lot of stability to Texas Pistols 18 Black’s backcourt. In her first season with the club after coming from Texas Image, she has become an important piece in the team’s playing system with efficiency on passing and defense. Mooney is among the elite of the defensive players in the state of Texas and ranks 85th in our 2022 Prep Dig State Rankings. She ended her high career with Eaton with 1,316 digs, 1,364 passes, 1,024 kills, 93 blocks and 62 aces and is ready to give the next step with Texas Tech.
Hannah Barry Hannah Barry 6'1" | MB Peaster | 2022 State TX – Middle Blocker/Right Sider – HS: Peaster – 2022
A versatile six-footer who can play in the middle or the right, Hannah Barry Hannah Barry 6'1" | MB Peaster | 2022 State TX plays the game with a lot of fire and intensity. She’s a highly productive player at the net with her combination of size, power and skills and is a reliable scoring option and an excellent blocker as well. She was a standout for her high school team Peaster, having tallied 914 kills, 223 blocks and 155 digs over four years. Barry ranks 157th in our 2022 Prep Dig State Rankings and is headed to the University of Central Oklahoma, where she’ll continue her playing career.
