We really try to keep track and stay up to date with as many players as possible across our network. It gets a little tricky when players don’t play for the age with which they match up. For example, 2022 recruiting class are the 18s age group. I’ve been doing some homework before the Prep Dig Champions Cup, and here are some of the athletes who will be playing up an age group (or more).

Addison Vaughn – 2026 – 5’2 – Defensive Specialist – D.C. Everest – Wisconsin Ice 15 National

Vaughn is a former gymnast with the drive to be a real lockdown defender from any position in the back row. She is another player who has a lot of experience playing sand volleyball against older competition. Vaughn is a part of a really solid Wisconsin Ice team out of central Wisconsin that has plenty of big-time talent, including 2025’s [player_tooltip player_id="180602" first="Cali" last="Eastling"] (5’7 - Pin Hitter/Middle Blocker – Tri-County), and [player_tooltip player_id="180601" first="Kirsten" last="Hall"] (5’10 – Middle Blocker – D.C. Everest).

[player_tooltip player_id="180689" first="Grace" last="Auer"] – 2023 – 5’7 – Middle Blocker – Pacelli – One Wisconsin Point 18 Momentum

[player_tooltip player_id="180690" first="Samantha" last="Nickel"] – 2023 – 5’5 – Outside Hitter – SPASH – One Wisconsin 18 Momentum

One Wisconsin 18 Momentum is looking for a solid weekend of play for a well blended group of 2022s and 2023s. Their roster hasn’t seen any college commitments yet, so they are all still recruitable, including 2023 middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id="180689" first="Grace" last="Auer"] who is solid offensively and defensively. [player_tooltip player_id="180690" first="Samantha" last="Nickel"] brings a spark of energy to her squad and has a knack for finding a way to score points.

[player_tooltip player_id="178382" first="Karissa" last="Rettler"] – 2023 – 5’3 – Defensive Specialist – Tri-County – Wisconsin Ice 18 Prep

Rettler is gritty and has a love for the game. She is sound in serve-receive and can make smart reads on defense. Rettler is a utility player who has experience playing a number of positions.

[player_tooltip player_id="180691" first="Milan" last="Eliyha"] – 2024 – Setter – Sturgeon Bay – One Wisconsin Bay 17 Lightning

Eliyha can play solid defense, as well as step in and take any ball at any time without hesitation. Playing up an age should be very beneficial in order to challenge her in decision-making and speed of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id="180692" first="Sidney" last="Geiss"] – 2025 – 5’3 – Libero/Setter – D.C. Everest – Wisconsin Ice 16 National

Geiss has plenty of experience playing against older players since she plays a number of sand tournaments each summer in a higher age group. This year she is playing up an age group to play with the 16s and will be a defender who you should definitely keep tabs on.
