Prep Dig was on hand for both Saturday and Sunday action. Below, we list six defenders from the 17s and 15s that we witnessed.
Jaylen Clark, Surfside 17 MB Legends – Opponents should serve away from Clark as she’s capable of putting up a good first ball to start the rally with. She’s also energetic and covers well in the back row.
Ella Scott, Tstreet 17 Naseri – Scott holds it down in serve receive with consistent passes. She’s also a strong server with a nice flat hard serve that can be tough to handle.
Grace Moss, Mizuno Long Beach 17 Rockstar – Teams don’t serve Moss too much as she’s solid in serve receive. She’s also adept at picking up balls in coverage when her hitters are attacking that get touched back over the net.
Molly LaBreche, Surfside 15 PV Legends – LaBreche helps make up a balanced Surfside roster. She’s active and all over the court. She has a good sense where the ball is going and anticipates well.
