Of course, we’ll have plenty more great options for these features as the club season progresses. You can expect some positional breakdowns, regional spotlights, and other content as we look to identify the players who are rapidly improving in 2022. It’s going to be a big year.
Now, here are a few athletes to follow in Nebraska’s Class of 2024
Mallorie Meyer Mallorie Meyer 5'5" | DS/L Lincoln East | 2024 State NE – 5’5 DS/L – VCNebraska 16 Elite
Meyer has consistently been turning heads with her work in club competition, and that success goes back way farther than just this year. She can effortlessly patrol the backcourt and is so skilled at controlling balls that are outside her midline. Her VCN 16 Elite team just posted a runner-up finish at January Thaw and will certainly build on that momentum with Meyer at libero.
Malayah Long Malayah Long 6'0" | S Lincoln Southwest | 2024 State #142 Nation NE – 6’1 S/OH – VCNebraska 17 Elite
Long has climbed the ladder to the 17s division this year, and she’s already proving that there’s little she can’t do on the volleyball court. At January Thaw, this physical setter got some run on the left pin and stepped in nicely. Who knows what position she might get a crack at next.
Aowyn Schrader – 6’1 OH – Premier Nebraska 16 Gold
Iowa stakes their claim on Schrader during the high school season, but this talented outside hitter hops over to Premier for club. Indeed, another Schrader is looming large in the Premier gym. The latest Schrader iteration does some seriously good work from the left pin and can be a mainstay in the back row.
It’s deja vu seeing another Schrader in a Premier uniform.

Eleanor Brislen Eleanor Brislen 5'11" | OH Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE – 5’11 OH – Premier Nebraska 16 Black
Brislen remains bulletproof in serve receive. This six-rotation outside hitter thrives off of taking the first contact, and she does it with great consistency. In the frontcourt, Brislen dishes out plenty of offense from the left pin and adjusts well to the block that’s in front of her.
Morgan Glaser Morgan Glaser 6'0" | OH Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE – 6’1 OH/RS – Premier Nebraska 16 Black
Glaser just keeps getting better. She’s played a bit of opposite, a little left side, and has already proven that she can excel at either one. The Papio pin hitter has an uncanny ability to fire up her teammates with a huge swing or massive block. Glaser’s role continues to expand and her impact will be felt throughout the 2022 season.
Skyler Ritterbush Skyler Ritterbush 5'7" | DS/L Millard West | 2024 State NE – 5’5 DS/L – Premier Nebraska 16 Red
Premier 16 Red generated some buzz early on when they went toe-to-toe with 16 Black in the season-opening Premier Showcase. Ritterbush, a skilled libero from Millard West, is a big part of the 16 Red equation. She covers a big chunk of the court with ease and is always around to cover her hitters.

Addison Johnson Addison Johnson 5'10" | OH Columbus | 2024 State NE – 5’9 OH/DS – Nebraska Elite 16 Lokahi
We’re going to be talking about this 16 Lokahi squad for a while, and their championship at January Thaw will surely bring more attention toward the team. Johnson’s recent contributions to the squad have been wide-ranging and large in magnitude. She’s a skilled passer and efficient attacker who ensures that her presence will be felt in all six rotations.
