Across the gym, another team decided it was their time to shine in Adidas Dynasty 15 Black. They returned to Kansas with an open bid in the 15’s division after the Mideast Qualifier in Indianapolis last weekend. They maneuvered through the weekend with a 9-1 record, dropping three sets along the way.
This team found success as 14s, finishing among the top 13 in the nation in the open division. The roster features many players who found their way into their high school rotations as freshmen. Emma Christian stayed with her age group this year to join with Ella Florez Ella Florez 5'9" | S Mill Valley | 2026 State KS to build a strong setter duo. They helped set the team to a light day one besides a close 26-24 set versus TI Elite. Every other set had double-digit deficits for the opponents.
On the second day, they suffered their first set loss in the second to No Name VBC, before bouncing back to win the third 15-9. They then would suffer their only loss of the tournament and the last two sets they would drop to Austin Skyline 15 Royal, -24, -23. They would bounce back to beat Rockwood Thunder 15 Elite to claim a spot in the gold pools. Libero Hadley Porter Hadley Porter 5'6" | DS/L Blue Valley Southwest | 2025 State KS and DS Addison Lindemann navigate the back row for Dynasty .
On the final day, Dynasty saw themselves pitted against Boiler Jrs. and OT 15 Randy. They swept both matches and won three of the sets 25-17 along the way. 15 Black has a roster of pins capable of filling up the stat sheet when their name is called. Ashlee Chavez Ashlee Chavez 5'9" | RS St. James | 2025 State KS is on the right side. The southpaw has good size and puts up a good block. On the left, Lauren Lopez Lauren Lopez 5'10" | OH Bishop Miege | 2025 State KS , Leah Russell-Bova Leah Russell-Bova 5'10" | OH Olathe West | 2025 State KS , and Jenna McClure Jenna McClure 5'8" | OH Blue Valley North | 2025 State KS all have strong skill sets that include power and finesse.
In the gold bracket, their first match was against the local program Circle City 15 Purple, -20 -18. This win would advance them to the championship match to take on 1st Alliance 15 Gold. The first set had all the makings of an instant classic, with a marathon ending in a 29-27 win for Dynasty . To round out the roster, the middles are a good mixture in that of Isabel Glover, Abigail Riggs Abigail Riggs 5'11" | MB Mill Valley | 2025 State KS , and Epifania Salamasina. Either Dynasty found the magic for Alliance were defeated after the first set but Dynasty would finish the match in dominating fashion, taking the set 25-12. They will attempt to match the streak of their older counterparts by winning their next qualifier, Show Me in their home city.
