Maggie Kalisz- M1 14 Blue
Playing all the way around, Maggie Kalisz was a force to watch in the front and back row. I watched her go up and crush a ball on the right side. Then, she transitions on the outside and thumps a ball hard line. Next play, Kalisz beams a fast-tempo back row attack to the right back’s head. Kalisz puts great topspin on the ball with her live arm and consistently shows her aggression at the net. My favorite rotation her squad has is when Kalisz pulls from the front row in serve receive to pass in the left back position and them comes up to hit a 2 ball in the middle. Maggie can do it all, and the best part… She’s only 13!
Sarah Sanders- Walton Elite 15 Smack
Tooling the block so effortlessly must be one of Sarah Sander’s best traits. She jumps so well on the outside which allows her to be above all of these hitters making it easy to hit off the hands. Sanders can also bust a ball cross, but she knows how to take care of the ball too. I saw Sanders all in one play tool the block, then hit cross, and finally tip in the middle of the court for a court. She is relentless, determined, and Sanders never wavers from a battle. This all the way around outside is a player you want on your team!
Kinney Boyle- Premier GVC 15-1s
If you want a loud, energetic stud of an outside hitter, then look no further because Kinney Boyle is your gal. She’s constantly calling for the ball and always cheering on her teammates while also being her squad’s go-to on the left side. In one play, I saw her serve receive a dime to the setter then quickly move up to the front row where she picked up a tip from the opposing left side, and lastly, Boyle followed it up with a quick transition, so she could swing. Boyle is always working and giving her all for the team, and that’s a player you don’t want to leave the floor.
Selah Groome- Walton Elite 15 Red
A premier club from Georgia, Walton Elite has tons of talent, but one player that excelled in her position was outside hitter, Selah Groome. One of her top strengths was her leadership when the team struggled to get out of a rotation. Someone just needed to put a nice high 5 and 5 ball to Groome, and she would figure out a way to take care of it. Outside hitters are known for “getting the trash,” but one of Groome’s best qualities is figuring out a way to turn nothing into something. Be on the lookout for this stud in the future!
