The 2022 club season has already given us a variety of big events and venues where rising stars can make themselves known. A big recruiting extravaganza will kick off for the 2024s this summer, so we want to go all-in on our coverage of this group. There’s a lot of names to know in the Cornhusker State, too.
So, consider this a quick tour of some of the state’s 2024s that have had impressive outings so far this year. We’re excited to add plenty more names to this list, too, so stay tuned for more features in the coming weeks and months.
Mia Tvrdy Mia Tvrdy 6'0" | MB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State #35 Nation NE – 5’10 MB – Premier Nebraska 16 Gold
Tvrdy recently got some nice recognition from some non-Nebraska Prep Dig scouts for her work at Triple Crown NIT. It’s a testament to this middle blocker’s continued improvement in all facets of her game. Tvrdy’s lateral quickness and slide-hitting ability will always be an asset, and she continues to be a go-to attacking option for Premier 16 Gold.
Delaney Sliva – 5’7 OH/DS – Nebraska Elite 16 Shock
Sliva has been all over the court for 16 Shock lately, and she’s showing that she can do just about anything. Jumping well beyond her 5’7 frame allows Sliva to terminate with authority at the net, and she also is a player you want to rely on in serve receive. 2022 has already been a big year for this all-around athlete.
Haylee Wolf Haylee Wolf 5'7" | DS/L Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE – 5’5 DS/L – Premier Nebraska 16 Black
This Elkhorn North standout continues to build her stock in the ongoing club season. Wolf is developing the kind of well-rounded game you hope to see in a libero, as she reads opposing hitters incredibly well and is reliable in covering her own hitters. Her highlight moments will keep accumulating.
Ali Bruning Ali Bruning 5'8" | S Nebraska Christian | 2024 State NE – 5’8 S – VCNebraska 16 Elite
After leading Nebraska Christian to a historic appearance in the semifinal round of last year’s state tournament, Bruning is back to accomplishing more big things with VCN this spring. Her 16 Elite team faced off against some of the nation’s best talent at Triple Crown NIT, and this setter was definitely made for those kinds of moments.
Taylor Olsen Taylor Olsen 6'0" | MB Bennington | 2024 State NE – 5’11 MB – Premier Nebraska 16 Red
Olsen has emerged as one of the clear leaders for the 16 Red offense. She attacks with some nice pace in front of the setter and puts up a block that can entirely change the momentum of a match when she’s on the floor. Keep an eye on Olsen as she builds on a strong start to the year.
Madison Rink Madison Rink 6'2" | MB Lincoln Southwest | 2024 State NE – 6’1 MB – VCNebraska 16 Black
We’re on a nice run of middle blockers here. Rink finds a way to be a big factor in nearly everything that VCN 16 Black does at the net. She seals blocks really well, attacks at a high contact point, and can even bring the heat from behind the service line.
Carly Ries – 6’3 OH – Nebraska Elite 16 Lokahi
The big hits just keep on coming from the big right arm of Ries. She could make a case for being one of the biggest stock risers in Nebraska’s 2024 class, and her explosiveness on the left pin simply cannot be ignored. She built on her strong year once again with another great showing at last weekend’s Midwest Power League.
