In case you missed it, we’ve recently had a flurry of activity surrounding Nebraska’s Class of 2024 here on the Prep Dig site. That has culminated in a newly released 2024 rankings update to reflect what we’ve seen in an action-packed club season up to this point.
Obviously, we’re just scratching the surface of our Class of 2024 coverage. We’ll have countless more opportunities to add names to our list, and athletes will continue to raise their stock in future events. Above all, remember that our mission to cover as many players as possible remains unchanged. That means I’ll hopefully see all of you on the court several more times before the club season is done, and we’ll be there to talk about all the highlight moments yet to come.
Now, let’s get into our discussion of a few players who have already produced those highlight moments. Stock risers are in the spotlight today!
Mia Tvrdy Mia Tvrdy 6'0" | MB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State #35 Nation NE – 6’0 MB – Premier 16 Gold
I’ve seen a lot of great individual performances during my time covering club events. Sometimes, a particular player captures the spotlight and dominates a whole weekend. That was Tvrdy at the Northern Lights Qualifier. Her extraordinary one-footed attacks — both behind the setter and in front — helped propel Premier 16 Gold to one of the most inspiring bid runs of the entire year. Tvrdy embodies the spirit of these stock riser features and will have so many more chances to shine throughout the year.

Faith Frame Faith Frame 5'6" | DS/L Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State #167 Nation NE – 5’6 DS/L – Premier 16 Gold
Here’s another 16 Gold athlete who always seems to step up in the big moments. Frame has taken her game to another level in the libero jersey this spring, and she can seamlessly take on a primary defensive specialist role, too. As I mentioned in our 2024 defensive specialists feature, Frame has really been showcasing her ability to stand in the crosscourt and dig some heat.
Sarah Galligan Sarah Galligan 5'8" | DS/L Elkhorn South | 2024 State NE – 5’5 DS/L – Nebraska Elite 16-1
Let’s stay on the defensive specialist bandwagon. Galligan has seized control of the backcourt for a Nebraska Elite team that clearly prides itself on good ball control. It’s exciting to watch Galligan take on that big defensive role, and that should also carry into more success on the high school side this fall.
Carly Ries Carly Ries 6'3" | OH Norfolk | 2024 State NE – 6’3 OH – Nebraska Elite 16-1
Ries’s meteoric rise has been so fun to follow. She is really excelling as a left-side hitter that can attack at a variety of tempos. Her ball control skills are coming along, too, so Ries will undoubtedly be on our radar for years to come as we look to identify Nebraska’s top talents from outside the big cities.
Haylee Wolf Haylee Wolf 5'7" | DS/L Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE – 5’7 DS/L – Premier 16 Black
Wolf’s unmatched on-court energy has translated to some big results for Premier 16 Black. This libero showed her spectacular defensive range in Minneapolis as she helped her team capture a 16 USA bid and a trip to Indianapolis this summer.
Emerson Lionberger Emerson Lionberger 6'0" | MB Lincoln Southwest | 2024 State NE – 6’0 MB – VCNebraska 16 Elite
Lionberger’s aptitude at the middle blocker spot is having a year-round impact on the Nebraska prep scene. Whether it’s in a high school or club venue, Lionberger is bound to stand out. She is getting quicker in transition all the time and packs some serious heat in front of the setter. This is simply an attacker you want to lean on in clutch situations.
Addison Johnson Addison Johnson 5'10" | OH Columbus | 2024 State NE – 5’9 OH – Nebraska Elite 16-1
Johnson is a player you can rely on to do just about anything. She can stand in the passing formation and lock down her area of serve receive, and she can also just bring a hammer to the left pin whenever needed. Versatile players like Johnson truly define Nebraska Elite 16 Lokahi’s success.
Skyler Ritterbush Skyler Ritterbush 5'7" | DS/L Millard West | 2024 State NE – 5’7 DS/L – Premier 16 Red
Liberos are just crushing it this year, it seems. Ritterbush has been an ever-present defensive anchor for Premier 16 Red. Her ability to read opposing attackers and take early steps toward the ball has set her apart so far this year.
Sarah Spahr Sarah Spahr 5'10" | MB Milford | 2024 State NE – 5’10 MB – Nebraska Juniors 16 Black
Spahr is a middle blocker who can go pin-to-pin effortlessly. She’s always there to seal up blocks and has also put down some nice offensive production for 16 Black. She’ll even dig her area of the backcourt in her serving rotation. Anything to win.
