Continue ReadingOne of the most anticipated moments of the club season for the class of 2022 player is right around the corner as some of the top 18s teams in the state of Washington will be reunited in Lynnwood this coming weekend for the Puget Sound Region U18 Bid Tournament.
The event will offer a precious opportunity for club teams from around the Evergreen State to qualify for this year’s USAV Girls 18s Junior National Championship, which will take place in Phoenix, Arizona, from April 22-24.
We’ve already highlighted some of the teams that will be competing for the bid this weekend in previous articles in the current club season, so we’ve taken the days leading up to the event to feature some others who also deserve our love.
SNVF 18 Waves
The team from the Space Needle Volleyball Foundation based in the Lynwood/Mukilteo area started the season on fire, finished second at the Jingle Ball Battle. Other good results were to follow with a 14th in Puget Sound Region Power League and a 20th in the Annual Las Vegas Classic. SNVF 18 Waves has won 21 and lost 12 matches so far in the season.
Players to Watch
Haedyn Bambolo Haedyn Bambolo 6'1" | OH Bothell | 2023 State WA – Outside Hitter – HS: Bothell – 2023
A recent addition to SNVF 18 Waves coming from the Washington Volleyball Academy, Haedyn Bambolo Haedyn Bambolo 6'1" | OH Bothell | 2023 State WA is an outside hitter that brings the fire at the pin. A 6’1” prospect with eye-popping physical tools, she is a more-than-viable scoring option for any team and had a central role in Bothell’s victory in the most recent State Championship, ending the season with 372 kills, 56 aces, 44 blocks, 392 digs and 420 passes. She’s also very good on the backcourt and excels with her consistency.
Aaliyah Lutali Aaliyah Lutali 5'4" | S Jackson | 2023 State WA – Setter – HS: Jackson – 2023
A very technical and creative ball-handler, Aaliyah Lutali Aaliyah Lutali 5'4" | S Jackson | 2023 State WA is in charge of running SNVF 18 Waves’ offense. The 5’5” setter plays an intelligent and efficient style of volleyball, thriving for her excellent decision-making and consistency in her settings. She’s coming from a prolific high school season with Jackson in which she produced 278 assists, 67 digs and 31 aces.
Arden Caley Arden Caley 6'2" | OH Skyline | 2023 WA – Right Sider – HS: Skyline – 2023
A long and athletic right sider, Arden Carley brings some size for SNVF 18 Waves at the net standing at 6’2”. She can play on both sides of the net, but is typically deployed on the right, where her offensive skills are more effective. Caley has excellent reach on offense and does a good job in always completing her wrist movement when hitting, assuring the ball won’t land out. She can also put on a big block in front of opposing outside hitters.
