Continue ReadingWe have to catch everyone up on all of the commitments that have happened since we last wrote an article on college choices. It has been a while and it is time to rev up the engine and get this article series back on track. The offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the club and high school volleyball season. They also have been hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have just made their college decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Annika Flora [2022] 5-11 Setter (HS: Georgetown/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Southwestern University)
Annika is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig rankings, but we have had our eye on her for the past couple of years. She is a talented setter from the central Texas area. She plays for Georgetown High School and also for the fantastic Austin Juniors club program. She is a stud setter with very sift hands who can be pinpoint accurate at all locations along the net. I love how easily she pushes ball to the opposite position when the pass takes her toward the left side of the court. When she plays you can see just how high her volleyball IQ is. She knows who to set in different situations and when to dump the ball to keep the other team off-balance. We are proud to announce that she committed to playing college volleyball at Southwestern University. We are very proud of her and we are extremely happy that she has realized her dream of playing at the next level. Please help us congratulate her on the achievement.
Karly Wells Karly Wells 6'1" | OH Keller Central | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-1 Right Side/Outside/Setter (HS: Keller Central/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Dallas Baptist University)
Karly is currently ranked as the 102nd best overall player in the 2023 class according to our State Rankings. She is a lengthy “slash” player from the Dallas area who can truly do it all on the court. She plays high school at Keller Central High School and club for the awesome Dallas Skyline volleyball program. I call her a “slash” player because she can literally do it all on the court. She plays left side slash right side slash setter. She has the length to be such a factor on the net whether attacking or blocking. But she truly excels on the offensive end with her natural power and fantastic hand contact. We are proud to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at Dallas Baptist University. Please help us congratulate Miss Wells on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball. We are glad that we still get to cover her for the next two years.
Presley Powell [2023] 5-9 Setter (HS: Tompkins/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Colorado School of Mines)
Presley is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig rankings, but she is definitely on my watch list to potentially be added once we update in a few months. She plays for Tompkins High School and also for the nationally recognized Houston Skyline club. She is a solid setter who distributes the ball very well and evenly for her club squad. She has a tough serve but what we truly love about her play is her defense. While most setters struggle at times because they want to release from right back too early, Pres stays at her adjusted defensive position and keeps her eyes focused on the attacker. She is able to use her long arms to create great angles to keep the ball in system. She does not move a lot during and after contact which allows her to replicate great digs consistently. We are happy to announce that she recently made her college choice. She will be playing college volleyball for Colorado School of Mines in a few years. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of player at the next level.
