Continue ReadingIt doesn’t matter what level you play at when you think about the fact that NCAA research shows that only four percent of high school volleyball players play in college. Texas is second to none when it comes to our players earning the right to play at the next level. The offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the club and high school volleyball season. They also have been hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have just made their college decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Brooke Bentke Brooke Bentke 6'2" | OH Brenham | 2023 State #112 Nation TX [2023] 6-2 Outside (HS: Brenham/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miss Bentke is currently ranked as the 9th top overall prospect and the 4th best outside in the State of Texas according to our Prep Dig Rankings in the class of 2023. We have profiled her a couple of times already and will likely write a few more articles as she is just tearing it up on the court since we introduced her last summer. We have previously stated, “She is a lengthy six rotation pin hitter who is the “go-to” scorer for her talented Woodlands Revolution club squad. She can light it up with the best of them as she scores at will in a variety of ways. Most players at this age, need almost a perfect set to score. Not Brooke. When the set is inside or off, she can still adjust her approach accordingly and still have the timing to hit with power. She can find the hole in the block, she can swing around it and go line, and she has so much power that she can tool the block at will. Standing at six foot two, she is a towering presence at the net against her opponents. . What I loved the most when I watched her this summer in person is the relentless pursuit of the ball in the back row. She is the total package. Now she just joined a phenomenal Houston Skyline program for the coming club year and we couldn’t be more excited. Please help us congratulate her on being named a top ten player in the state of Texas.” We are proud to announce that Brooke has decided where she will play her college ball. She will stay close to home and play division one college ball at Texas State University. She will for sure be an impact player for their program as they look to stay dominant in their conference. Please stay tuned for more from Brooke as she continues to impress everyone with her play on the court. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing at the next level.
Christen Maloney [2022] 5-9 Outside/Right Side (HS: Clear Creek/Club: Absolute Volleyball Academy/Verbal: University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown)
Christen is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig rankings. She plays for Clear Creek High School and also for Absolute Volleyball Academy out of the South East side of Houston. She is a high-flyer with a ton of raw power in her swing. Her right arm is gifted and she can put the ball down with a lot of authority if given a split in the block. If a blocker or a back row defender aren’t in a good position to play the ball, her power will usually result in a kill as it has some serious pace on it. We are proud to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She will give her college team some much needed firepower when she arrives on campus. She will be an impact player from the moment she steps foot on campus. Please help us congratulate Miss Maloney on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball.
Bailey Lasater [2022] 5-8 Setter (HS: Centennial/Club: Texas Image/Verbal: St. Mary of the Woods College)
Bailey is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig rankings. She plays for Centennial High School and also for Texas Image volleyball club out of the North Texas area. Miss Lasater is a solid setter who is able to play all the way around for Texas Image and runs a great offense with some dynamic attackers. She is able to play fantastic defense out of the right back zone and doesn’t let a lot drop around her. There is not a set that she cannot replicate while she jump sets. We have watched her team play this season and they are very athletic. Bailey is able to move the ball around very well to each hitter and keep her opponents off-balance with her set selection. She should do very well at the next level. We are proud to announce that she has committed to playing volleyball at St. Mary of the Woods College for next season. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of player at the next level.
