Metro
How They Earned Their Bid – Winning the Ohio Valley Qualifier to earn an Open bid.
Other Tournament Results – Fifth in the Music City Qualifier, seventh in the Norther Lights Qualifier, first in Capitol Hill Classic and third in Northeast Qualifier.
Players to Highlight – This club is officially listed as a Washington D.C. club but their practice facilities and players are located in Maryland, Virginia and even Delaware. They have a reputation for being one of the more athletic clubs in the country playing high above the net.
This club has the fortune of having two state Gatorade Players of the year in outside Brenya Reid (Delaware) and middle Zaria Ragler (Maryland). Zaria is a Washington Post first team All Met selection and has a commitment to Ohio State. She is ranked number 92 in Prep Digs class of 2022. Brenya is committed to James Madison University. She launches missiles with a top spin serve capable of finding the seams.
Another Big Ten commit (Maryland) is six rotation outside Laila Ivey, number 62 on our Prep Dig Class of 2022. The 6’1″ terminator was voted to the All Tournament team in the Northeast qualifier. Last year she was voted to the Junior National All Tournament team and was the best attacker at the Capitol Hill Classic in 2020.
The 6’1″ middle Hannah Sherman has a commitment to Louisville and was number 89 in our class of 2022. She was voted Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) first team and was an honorable mention for the Post All Met team. Opponents who have felt her presence at the net or watch a spike buried in front of them would call her a first teamer. She was voted best blocker at Capital Hill Classic in 2017 and 2019 and continues to terrorize hitters with her blocking exploits.
Sarah Jordan Sarah Jordan 5'11" | OH Loudon County | 2022 State VA is a 6’0″ setter with a commitment to Towson. She was the Loudon County player of the year after setting Loudon County High School to their tenth straight state championship. She was also voted second team Post All Met and made the Class 4 All State team. Capital Hill voted her the MVP in 2019 and best setter in 2018.
Metro likes to run 6’2″ offenses. They have a surplus of pin hitters and this allows them to bring some of that surplus to play the right side. Natalie Luscomb is one of those right sides. The second team All Met can pound the ball to the floor with the best of them. When the Lehigh University commit gets her set rallies end quickly.
Finally, we will end this list of talented players with outside Jacqueline Bardin, an outside that led Flint Hill high school to a fourth straight State championship. It earned the Davidson College commit First Team Post All Met honors.
East Coast Volleyball Club

Norris has a left hander hammer built for the right side earning her first team All Tidewater honors and a commitment to University of Delaware. Otis made the second team All Tidewater team and has committed to Saint Augustine University.
Two players who have not committed that provide valuable contributions to the team are 5’10″ outside Grace Holroyd and libero Stephanie Schatzman. Holroyd won First Team All Tidewater and was voted the Region player of the year. She shares back row duties with University of Delaware commit Cadence Nguyen. Stephanie earned first team All Tidewater honors and was voted the Class 6 Region Libero of the year.
The player who makes this offense click is 5’4″ setter Kaitlyn Kaplan. She has committed to Randolph Macon College. East Coast comments that “KK” has a high volleyball IQ and is a great team player. She has the ability to distribute sets to multiple locations on the court creating fits for opponents trying to defend the attacks.
