Continue ReadingThe end of club season is in sight. Most of the qualifiers are done and now teams are starting to prepare for the end of their season and nationals. The 15s teams in the Badger Region run DEEP. In fact, of the top 8 who attended the Badger Qualifier, nearly all have earned a bid.
The middles have been impressive and have improved in leaps and bounds this season. This is the time when many athletes start picking up their tempo and strategy in their play and it shows. Here are some middles to watch headed into the back end of the club season.
Megan Anderson Megan Anderson 5'11" | MB Winneconne | 2025 State WI – Impact 15 National
Megan has been impressive this entire season. She has a lot of speed and power in her approach and continues to develop her court awareness and shots. She will be a dangerous middle as she keeps building her toolkit on offense. Megan also impresses as a blocker. Her movement across the court is swift and clean.
Morgan Festerling Morgan Festerling 5'8" | MB Wisconsin Lutheran | 2025 State WI – Milwaukee Sting 15 Black
Morgan was a key player at the Badger Region Championships for Sting. She is powerful and smart at the net. She is also very well-rounded as an athlete. She worked well with her setters and was always engaged on the court. Morgan also put up a strong and massive block that was hard for opposing hitters to penetrate.
Megan McDowell – RVA G15 Navy
Megan is an energizer on the court. She makes big plays in big moments but is also impactful in smaller ways as well. She is the type of athlete who can find a way to earn points. It doesn’t matter if her team is out of system or if the set is off, Megan will find a way to put the ball over the net and in a good spot. On a perfect pass and set though, she will unload on the ball with quite a bit of power.
Sarah Coffey Sarah Coffey MB WI – Wisconsin Juniors 15-1
Sarah has great form and a high reach. As she develops her power, watch out, because she will be a dynamic and explosive middle. She is already a very smart player and will only continue to improve and impress. Sarah is an athlete to keep an eye on because she has an insane amount of potential.
Sydney Drankiewicz – Motion 15 Blue
Sydney is a lefty middle with huge potential. She has a fast arm swing that makes her hard to read. She also is a good blocker. She is very engaged on the court and is always working to make a play. Sydney has an explosive approach and a big swing out of the middle.
Maeve Lasky Maeve Lasky 5'11" | RS Oshkosh West | 2025 State WI – FC Elite 15 Navy
Maeve is another key middle to watch. She competes at a high level every time she is on the court. She is very well-rounded in all of her skills and has good court awareness. She has been impressive this season on this very talented FC Elite team.
