Varya Rahoizha Varya Rahoizha 5'11" | S Andrean | 2024 State IN , 5-11 S, KeAloha, Andrean
The heir apparent to Maddie Kmetz Maddie Kmetz 5'9" | S Andrean | 2022 State IN (’22, 5-9 S, signed with Western Michigan) for the Fighting 59ers is a taller version that can run a fast offense and can block at a higher level. Her consistently-placed sets make her hitters better instantly, all with high and fast hands. Her club season has been great in her development, but to follow up a state championship season with Andrean? I look forward to watching the challenge of repeating.
Sydney Lohman Sydney Lohman 5'7" | OH Hamilton Southeastern | 2024 State IN , 5-7 OH, Rev, Hamilton Southeastern
I apologize in advance that I dropped the ball on listing Sydney sooner. She’s done nothing but win at every level she’s played, and she’s a six-rotation outside to boot. In short, Sydney is a spitfire of an outside with springs for legs and a lightning bolt for a right shoulder. She can hit any shot taller outsides can hit, can come with pace, and can make opposing defenses frustrated. Larger schools will scoff at her size, but at their own peril.
Tia Phinezy Tia Phinezy 6'2" | RS Snider | 2024 State IN , 6-2 RS, Summit, Snider
Although I’ve personally seen Tia hit from both pins, her size and physical prowess would suit her best at the next level as a three-rotation right side that can shut down opposing outsides and can go over the very same. Her athleticism is off the charts, and it’s only a matter of time before someone sees this young lady for who she is—a strong, fast kid who is just now cracking her potential.
Emily Reno Emily Reno 6'0" | OH Delta | 2024 State IN , 6-0 OH, Munciana, Delta
Another six-rotation outside, Emily is receiving the ball-control training that every outside needs from both Munciana and nearby Delta High School. She hits high and hard, is instinctual on defense and serve receive, and makes few errors, if any. She does all of this without the flash that some outsides in this class have shown; a gym rat who is no-nonsense in her training to be better every day. Highly coachable, indeed.
Kylie Creech Kylie Creech 5'5" | S Mishawaka | 2024 State IN , 5-5 S, NIVA, Mishawaka
Speaking of gym rats, Kylie is the quintessential workaholic, and does not take her time for granted. Miss Creech is a workhorse of a setter, using her feet and speed to get to every out-of-system ball that bigger, slower setters just can’t get to. You will not find a kid, in this or any class, who will outwork Kylie. Her potential can make her a 5-1 setter for smaller schools, and a three-rotation setter for larger schools. Either way, she belongs at the next level. Look past her size and you’ll see it instantly.
