Regionals in Oklahoma City this weekend will be the last place for teams to try and earn a bid for nationals. There are already a handful of teams who have solidified their bid and likely will skip regionals, such as Charge 14UA, TPV 15-1, Peak 17-1 and Peak 15-1. Everyone else from the region will be fighting to keep their season alive. There are two divisions for each age, one of which is the bid division and the other is a non-bid division. We will be focusing on the bid divisions. Let’s take a look at 14s-17s and preview some teams who could make a run at the title.

14s- The top 5 overall seeds are UPVBC 14 Open, OK Charge 14 National, Peak 14-2, Rise 14-1, and TPV 14-2. I have been impressed with 14 Open from day one but more impressed with how far TPV 14-2 has come since the first tournament of the year. Darkhorse teams like Club Ace 14-1 and Virago 14-1 have both won some solid matches and a few tournaments between them this season. If these smaller clubs could get an upset somewhere, they could find some momentum and confidence.

15s- The top 5 overall seeds are OK Charge 15 UA, UPVBC 15 Open, Peak 15-2, Premier 15 Diamonds, and UPVBC 15 Pink. OK Charge 15 UA has a total of 44 wins on the season. Two darkhorse teams to watch out for are UPVBC Pink and Rise 15-1. Both teams have some playmakers and if their teams can gain some momentum, they could be right there in the mix. Players like Jasmine Liongco, Addison Worley, Chesnie Caudill, [player_tooltip player_id="194097" first="Grace" last="Marshall"] and Emry Brown give their teams a chance to grab the bid.

16s- The top 5 overall seeds are Peak 16-1, UPVBC 16 Open, UPVBC 16 Pink, Rise 16-1, and Ok Charge 16 UA. I am hoping to see Peak 16-1 and UPVBC 16 Open in the championship. Both of these teams are loaded with talented players and will make for some fireworks. Hitters like [player_tooltip player_id="156860" first="Curry" last="Kendall"], [player_tooltip player_id="156866" first="Maren" last="Johnson"], A healthy [player_tooltip player_id="156859" first="Landry" last="Braziel"], and [player_tooltip player_id="177224" first="Jada" last="Bishop"] are all going to make plays each and every match. A darkhorse team to watch is Virago 16-1. Despite being 8th overall nationally in the region, they are seeded 13th overall. They are a very steady team that does great in out-of-system situations.

17s- The top 5 overall seeds are UPVBC 17 Open, OK Charge 17UA, TPV 17-1, UPVBC 17 Pink, and Rise 17-1. I see 17 Open being the front runner but this age is pretty wide open after that. A lot of teams could make a run and be right in the mix. Players like Kent State Commit [player_tooltip player_id="144086" first="Mackenzie" last="McGuire"] and UCO commit [player_tooltip player_id="145968" first="Riley" last="Roberts"] are dynamic playmakers for 17 Open. Two darkhorse teams I am looking at making a splash are Redline 17-1 and PWP 17-1. Both have some solid wins on the year and have a few key players that can catch fire in a hurry like Kaitlyn Mathews, Payton Robbins, Chloe Hay, and Chahra Robledo.

We wish every team playing this weekend safe travels and healthy bodies. This club season has been fun to watch, we have seen a ton of kids take huge steps forward and the state of Oklahoma continue to improve as a whole.
