Our choice this past weekend was the TOV Challenge #7, which took place at the Texas One Volleyball Club, in Richmond, where eight teams competed in the 18s Division and 12 hit the court among the 17s.
As usual, we’re presenting the most impressive players in each position during the weekend, following with our selection for the All-Tournament Teams in both divisions. This time we’ll highlight the middle blockers.
Haley Manjack – Woodlands Revolution 18 Adidas – HS: Concordia Lutheran – 2022
Haley Manjack really impacts the game with her high-energy playing style. She stands at 5’10” but is very dynamic and moves extremely well at the net. Manjack’s athleticism comes to play when she’s hitting as she’s a tremendous leaper and has a very quick and powerful right arm. She’s also very quick to react and has excellent technique when blocking, placing her arms across the net and taking up a lot of space from opposing hitters.
Lily McWorther – Woodlands Revolution 18 Premier – HS: The Woodlands – 2022
A six-footer with excellent length and impressive athleticism, Lily McWorther was a force for division winners Woodlands Revolution 18 Premier at the net. She’s got a well-developed game on offense, being able to hit a few different sets and reaching a very high contact point. McWorther is also able to put a big wall in front of opposing hitters and make a great job in closing the space next to the pin blocker. A Southwestern University commit, she had a terrific senior season with The Woodlands, reaching triple digits in both kills (100) and blocks (117).
McKenna Malone – AVA TX 18 Attack – HS: Deer Park – 2022
McKenna Malone offers a physical presence at the net for her AVA TX 18 Attack team. She stands at 6’1” and has a lot of power on her lower body, a combination that makes her very difficult to stop at the net, especially when paired with her ability to hit different sets. Malone is very effective when hitting and can be unstoppable when she gets into a rhythm. She committed to Nichols State and ended her high school career with a prolific season of 159 kills and 97 blocks at Deer Park.
Esosa Eregie – A1 Elite 17 Royal – 2024
Esosa Eregie has all the physical tools to become a dominant middle blocker at the next level. She’s the centerpiece of her club team A1 Elite Royal and typically delivers strong performances built upon her tremendous athleticism. Eregie is excellent on offense because of her tremendous reach and ability to hit straight down and can also become a nightmare to opposing hitters when she gets a good reading of the game. She has very quick feet and an excellent blocking technique.
Brenna Fleddermann – FR Premier Jrs 17 Gold – HS: Friendswood – 2024
Brena Fledderman makes great use of her physical tools and good reading of the game to make an impact at the net. She stands at 5’11” and is extremely physical, making it hard to not notice her presence on the court. Fledderman is extremely reliable with her offense and is also very effective with her blocking, helping her team on both sides of the ball.
Madison Ingram – Houston Skyline 17 White – HS: Tomball Memorial – 2023
Powerful is the word that first comes to mind when describing Madison Ingram’s game. She’s not only 6’1”, but also has great physicality with her game, consistently overpowering opponents at the net. Ingram has a well-developed game as she is excellent on offense, combining arm power, the ability to hit different sets and avoid opposing blockers, and also a prolific blocker.
