Badger Region teams had HUGE success across the board at the JVA World Championships. It was fun to watch so many teams make it not only into the gold bracket but also, into the top three! Here are the teams who brought home hardware from the JVA World Championships.

Impact 18-National – 2nd in 18 Club Division

Wisconsin Elite 18 Elite – 3rd in 18 Club Division

Capital 17 Adidas – 3rd in 17 Open Division

Capital had a very successful run at the World Challenge. They battled through some TOUGH three-set thrillers and came out on top every time. Their first loss of the weekend was in the semi-final match. [player_tooltip player_id="122560" first="Andi" last="Spies"] (Setter, 2024) ran the court like a well-oiled machine. She is smart, savvy, and aggressive with her decisions. [player_tooltip player_id="119399" first="Amelia" last="Albers"] (Libero, 2023) was scrappy and gritty in the back row. She was reliable in the toughest matches. [player_tooltip player_id="149575" first="Sierra" last="Pertzborn"] (Right Side, 2023) was highly impactful as a blocker on the right side and was a force on offense as well. Middle blockers Lauren Adams (2023) and [player_tooltip player_id="91887" first="Addison" last="Schmotzer"] (2023, Committed to St. Thomas) were aggressive at the net and earned a lot of points.

Impact 17 National – 1st in 17 Club Division

This team did not drop a single set the entire tournament. They did have some tough fights though including a 31-29 win over Platform 17 Adidas. Impact was consistent throughout the weekend. [player_tooltip player_id="91939" first="Alivia" last="Jeanquart"] (Setter, 2023) was key in running the offense. She is quick and has a fast release on the ball which outpaces a lot of blockers. [player_tooltip player_id="184768" first="Lauren" last="Grier"] (Middle Blocker, 2023) has had a breakout season this year and continued to impress from start to finish. [player_tooltip player_id="119397" first="Samantha" last="Kempinger"] (Outside, 2023) executed in all six rotations and had a very impactful serve. Libero [player_tooltip player_id="149605" first="Ella" last="Rosner"] (2023) was consistent in the back row. She was key on defense and serve receive for this championship run.

1W Point 17 Mizuno – 3rd in 17 Club Division

1W had to fight HARD for this medal, and they deserved it. They won several tight battles throughout the weekend against some very solid teams. This team has grit and determination and it showed. Middle blocker Emma Barton (2023) was a key player on this team. She was explosive and aggressive at the net. [player_tooltip player_id="159655" first="Elise" last="Uphoff"] (Libero, 2023) was incredibly scrappy and threw herself across the court to keep balls alive. [player_tooltip player_id="119430" first="Caitlyn" last="Pernsteiner"] (Outside Hitter, 2023) was a reliable force and go-to hitter for this team.

MVP 16 Blue – 3rd in 16 Premier Division

This MVP team has an incredible amount of energy and passion on the court. They are fun to watch and played incredibly tough and gritty throughout the weekend. They beat Kokoro 27-25 and 30-28 to head to the semifinal in the tournament. The pins on this team were very impressive. [player_tooltip player_id="181814" first="Abby" last="Bauer"] (Outside Hitter, 2024) was an energizer on the court. She was scrappy on defense and earned points with her serve. [player_tooltip player_id="144791" first="Addison" last="Leffler"] (Outside Hitter, 2024) was consistent at manufacturing points, utilizing a mix of shots and power to earn kills. [player_tooltip player_id="144910" first="Sidney" last="Doble"] (Outside Hitter, 2024) was super smart and knew when to turn on the heat and when to find a hole on the court. Setters [player_tooltip player_id="144911" first="Ava" last="Kharitou"] (2024) and [player_tooltip player_id="122515" first="Brylee" last="Leverenz"] (2024) both were consistent across the board and libero [player_tooltip player_id="122580" first="Navaeh" last="Keller"] (2024) played at an incredibly high level.

FC Elite 16 Navy – 3rd in 16 Open

FC Elite 16 Navy plays a clean and crisp game. They run a fast offense and this team is made up of gritty athletes who can execute in even the toughest situations. [player_tooltip player_id="122497" first="Olivia" last="Baierl"] (Libero, 2024) has a high volleyball IQ and makes big plays in the back row. Outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id="122532" first="Annalise" last="Patchett"] (2024) is a force to be reckoned with in the front and back row. She is powerful, consistent, and smart. Setters [player_tooltip player_id="122566" first="Emerson" last="Van Lannen"] (2024) and [player_tooltip player_id="122498" first="Kamryn" last="Kaminski"] (2024) are huge leaders on this team and move the ball around with a lot of experience.

Epic 16 Black – 3rd in 16 Classic

RVA G15 Navy – 3rd in 15 Premier

This RVA team has been dominant for several years. They have a lot of chemistry on the court as a team and a lot of individual talent as well. Libero Megan Johnson (2025) has crisp, clean form. She moves efficiently across the court and has great angles on serve receive. [player_tooltip player_id="178329" first="Kaylen" last="DiBrito"] (2025) is a six-rotation outside who gets great touches on defense and is smart on offense. Megan McDowell (Middle, 2025) is explosive and an energizer on the court. Setters Keira Robidoux (2025) and Lucia Brown (2025) keep the offense running smoothly.

FC Elite 15 Navy – 3rd in 15 Open

This team is gritty and fast. They aren’t afraid to take risks and it shows in their play. Setters [player_tooltip player_id="178227" first="Alexa" last="Hernandez"] (2025) and [player_tooltip player_id="178226" first="Madison" last="Tripp"] (2025) both run a fast-tempo offense and get their hands on nearly every ball. [player_tooltip player_id="178230" first="Eva" last="Wall-Perkins"] (Middle Blocker, 2025) is aggressive and clean at the net.
