I’ll be taking on the Windy City Qualifier this weekend and getting a final look where teams will be looking for that last chance to punch their ticket. Here is a bit of research for myself and for any college coaches who will be looking at 2023s and can see who is committed, and who is not. Let’s take a look at 2023 athletes!
Who Is Committed?
Chloe Chicoine – Circle City 17 Purple
Committed to Purdue
Chicoine will be one of the top prospects out of the Class of 2023 where she does it with her will and intensity on the court. She has competed against the best in the world with the USAV Youth National Team in 2021. Circle City is the top 17s team in the country and will be looking to leave the Windy City with another title.
Who is Not Committed?
Ava Smith – Circle City 17 Purple
To my knowledge, Ava Smith is not committed (and if kids are committed, please let me know). When Chicoine goes to the backrow, in comes Smith who is long, athletic, and one who can score points in a variety of ways. She has a high contact point where she can often hit over the block, but she has been able to show her versatility in how she scores points. What’s special about this Circle City team is how they complement each other so well. Their on court chemistry is apparent in how they interact and are always celebrating for each other.
Who Is Committed?
Avery Van Hook – Iowa Rockets 17R
Committed to South Dakota
The Coyotes have established themselves as a consistent front runner in the Summit League with new banners of NCAA Tournament a
ppearances. They have established a strong Iowa connection and Avery Van Hook will continue that pipeline. I’ve seen Van Hook since her 15s year where she was ready to set the world on fire for her high school team where she led them to a final four appearance at the Iowa State Tournament as a setter/right side. She plays a fast tempo game with a solid fundamental skill set and a killer instinct that you just can’t measure.
Who Is Not Committed?
Shelby Kimm and Jessie Julius – Iowa Rockets 17R
Kimm and Julius are two key athletes for Rockets as they were in Gold contention at Show Me last weekend. Julius is an explosive outside hitter who can serve receive and pass out of the backrow as well. Plenty of consistency with her swing and ability to score points. Kimm keeps getting better and better. She has played middle for her high school team and outside for club and can hold her own in the backrow. If I’m a college coach looking for 2023’s I’m on that Iowa Rockets court.
Who Is Committed?
Molly Berezowitz – MKE Sting 17 Gold
Committed to Marquette
Berezowitz just lights up the court where she plays with a smile and a spark. Her intangibles are through the roof and she has found a solid, local fit committing to Marquette where they are always in contention for Big East titles and NCAA appearances. She has been a winner at every level and every sport she’s competed in which includes being a key piece for her state tournament softball team at Burlington High School in Southeast Wisconsin.
SO excited announce my verbal commitment to play D1 volleyball at Marquette University!!! @RecruitMKESting @MarquetteVB pic.twitter.com/Yfc5fB5I8Y

Who is Not Committed?
Kati Goba – MKE 17 Gold
Goba teams up with Berezowitz in the backrow for MKE Sting 17 Gold where they have been a consistent day two gold team when it comes to national qualifiers. They will be looking to break through to be in gold on day three where they have beaten teams who have sealed up an open bid. Goba provides plenty of consistency in the backrow where she can serve receive on point and take pace off the ball while keeping her side of the net in system.
Who Is Committed?
Campbell Paris – Sky High 17 Elite
Committed to South Carolina
Paris is part of a group of athletes from the Upper Midwest heading to the SEC. At 6’4, Paris is able to contact and hit at an angle that is uncomfortable for defenders to adjust to. She is always a threat for Sky High who also has Chelsea Williams at the pin who can score points as well, she is committed to Miami (OH).
Who is Not Committed?
Maggie Duyos – Sky High 17 Elite
Major fan of Duyos and the energy she brings to the court. I’ve seen her play on the high school courts for Huntlet and club for Sky High and it’s the same, consistent energy and play where she is always looking to take her team to another level. This setter can hit all the tempos, she can get her hands to the ball and has no fear of going head to head at the net.
Who Is Committed?
Delanie Grevengoed – Michio 17 National
Committed to Appalachian State
Grevengoed is heading to the mountains where I always think of App State as a campus that is a postcard for the Appalachian Mountains. She’s long, athletic, and has a major upside at the next level with her skill set on the outside. I’ve seen her play in the Illinois High School state tournament as well as the club courts and she always manages to find ways to score points.
Who Is Not Committed?
Lauren Wallace – Michio 17 National
A really explosive outside where I have also seen Wallace play on the high school and club courts. I’m looking forward to seeing the progress of Wallace’s game this weekend where she was a big time leaper this fall for Munster High School out of Indiana. Her physical presence is definitely one that other teams have to be aware of where she can score from multiple spots along the front line and is a blocking force as well.
Who Is Committed?
Gabrielle Moulton – Mintonette m.72
Committed to West Florida
Moutlon is heading to sunshine and great volleyball, committing to D2 power West Florida in Pensacola. Moulton brings a really diverse skill set where she can set or swing. Her athleticism speaks for itself as she can make plays happen no matter what position she is playing. Teams who have an athlete like Moulton can always be creative with lineups and take advantage of mismatches when you have an athlete who can contribute in a variety of ways.
Who Is Not Committed?
Katie Remmert – Six Pack 17-1
Remmert plays with a ton of intensity and knows how to bring the energy out of her teammates. The six rotation outside from Cedar Falls, Iowa has played in plenty of big matches that have included multiple state tournament matches in Iowa’s largest class. With a heavy arm on the outside and ability to play all the way around makes her game very appealing to coaches at the next level.

Who is Committed?
Lexi Thatcher – Academy 17 E Tsunami
Committed to Samford
Thatcher has such a smooth style to her game. She’s been a key, consistent force for Academy 17s out of Indianapolis where she has a solid, core group that includes UCONN commit Mya Ayro and Kansas commit Raegan Burns at libero. Thatcher also looks to connect with middle blocker prospect, Jessica Pickett who is at 6’5 and a force at the net. With all these different weapons to use in their offensive arsenal, Thatcher is the one who can keep things balanced as well as the court cool, calm, and collected.
Who Is Not Committed?
Rachel Rossing – MKE Sting 17 Black
This setter needs to be on the radar of plenty! Rossing has great feet and smooth hands where she can run a quick tempo as well as lead her team. She will jump set to speed the offense up whenever possible and can remain neutral with her hands whether she is setting in front or behind. She’s succeeded at the high school level and has always been a key piece to the Sting 17s group the past few years.
