Continue ReadingWe have been watching the 2024 class very closely throughout the entire club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person. We have also been watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles in order to determine placement. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be moved up the rankings due to their individual performances.
Favor Anyanwu Favor Anyanwu 6'2" | MB Sachse | 2024 State #23 Nation TX [2024] 6-1 Middle (HS: Sachse/Club: Texas Advantage /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Favor has made a huge jump in the rankings in this update. She went from being listed as the 31st best overall prospect to now being ranked as the 13th best overall player and 3rd best middle in the 2024 class according to our State Rankings. She plays for Sachse High School and also for Texas Advantage Volleyball. We wrote an article on her when we watched her at the Lone Star National Qualifier and here is a little of what we stated,“She is a very talented middle who has power for days. This young lady impressed me with that power on a few swings that almost burst the volleyball at its seams. I loved how explosive she is with her footwork and arm swing. I am not sure if there is anyone who hits the ball harder in the age group other than her. I almost feel sorry for the ball when she makes contact with it. She uses her strong frame on the defensive end also as she seals the net from opposing attackers. This young lady will be a force for any school that scoops her up as she has tons of attributes that colleges look for. Stay tuned for more on Miss Anyanwu as we cover her journey for the next couple of years.” Favor just keeps getting better and better with each day on the court. Her power is immense, but she is deceptively quick with her footwork also. Please help us congratulate her on being named one of the top players in the great state of Texas.
Jaela Auguste Jaela Auguste 6'0" | MB Grand Oaks | 2024 State #17 Nation TX [2024] 6-0 Middle (HS: Grand Oaks/Club: TAV Houston/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Jaela has also made a very big jump in the rankings in this update. She is went from being ranked as the 57th best overall prospect to now listed as the 35th best overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays high school volleyball at Grand Oaks High School and for TAV Houston. We profiled her a few times and here is a little refresher on what we stated, “Miss Auguste is a multi-sport athlete who excels at track and field also. She is an amazing high jumper, which also translates into the volleyball game by helping her with attacking and blocking. She has lots of natural power and tons of raw athleticism that will propel her into stardom on the court as she continues to progress. Jaela is learning all of the routes on the route tree for a middle and is a show stopper with a slide behind the setter. Her blocking is something that any casual observer notices as its hard not to with her long wingspan and quick footwork to close out on the attacker. To say she played “big” is a huge understatement. We watched as she rose up well above the net to unload some bombs on her opponents. Her block was key against some huge state ranked attackers all weekend. A flat out stud who was turning heads amongst college coaches who were watching.” She earned every bit of the movement in this update as she was stellar out of the middle on both the offensive and defensive ends of the net. Miss Auguste’s stock is on the rise and she has a lot of college coaches buzzing about her potential at the next level. Please congratulate her on moving up into the top five!
Gabriella Reeves Gabriella Reeves 5'7" | S Antonian College Preparatory | 2024 State TX [2024] 5-6 Setter (HS: Reagan/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Gabby has made a very large jump in the rankings in this update. She went from being ranked as the 56th overall player to now being ranked as the 36th best overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays high school volleyball at Reagan High School and also club for Alamo. We have profiled her a few times this past year and here is a little of what we wrote, “This young lady is a very talented setter who has exceptional accuracy to every location along the net. She plays superb defense out of the right back zone and covers hitters like a libero. I have had the opportunity to see this youngster in action multiple times and am always impressed not only in her physical skill-set, but in how she approaches the game. She has so much fun playing at a high level and the competition only makes her better in my opinion. She has a very quick release and pushes a fast tempo to her pins. I like how she understands spreading the ball around to all hitters in order to keep the opponent off-balance. She will only get better as she continues to progress and we think she still has room to grow. All college coaches should be giving her a shot because she is proving her worth on the court against amazing competition.” I loved what I saw in person at the Lone Star National Qualifier in Dallas last month. She is fearless and relentless as a setter. Her location is getting better and better each time I watch her run a fast and furious offense. Her individual performance this past club season proved that she was one of the best setters in the state of Texas. Please help us congratulate her on moving up the list!
