If you head down to the World’s Most Famous Beach (Daytona Beach, FL) and check in to play at the convention center, you may come across one of 2 club teams in the area. Since 2016, Port Orange Volleyball or Daytona Beach Sports Club, has been led by 20 year vet Master Coach Lauren Valle. POV has been instrumental in introducing the sport to the community in the area by offering Spring Ball, Beach, Fall Ball and Volleystars programs. Over her career, she has sent dozens of athletes to college and this year her 18s team has produced 3 seniors heading on to play at the next level. Way to go ladies!

POV also has some talent to keep an eye out for that have played up in the club circuit their entire careers. This young group has been great at filling in where need be, learning the basics of each position and bringing a fun energy to the court that is necessary.

Jordan Matkovics- 5’7- S/OPP- Class of 2023

Jordan has super soft hands and excellent court vision that has allowed her pick apart defenses and find her hitters everywhere. Because she is primarily a setter, when she does swing it is well placed and shocking to most who don’t know she has a cannon.

Mia Mayberry- 5’9- OH/MH- Class of 2024

Athletic and strong, Mia has developed quickly over the years and has been a reliable swing in both the middle and outside. A hard jump serve, she can place the ball strategically when need be, giving game winning points.

Honorable Mentions

Anna Buker- 5’3- Libero/S- Class of 2024

Teris Ford- 5’8- OPP/MB- Class of 2025
