Big Winners from Opening Day of #PDTheFinale

<p>A few teams are already finding some separation in Pontiac.</p> <p>Opening-day matches gave us a lot of insight into the teams and players at our Prep Dig Circuit Finale. By the end of our morning wave, we had a few squads rising to the top of the leaderboard. We're going to visit a few of those teams here and give you a preview of some championship frontrunners.</p> <p>Of course, this is just the beginning of our Finale coverage. Once all the dust has settled for the weekend, I'll be diving right into all-tournament teams, individual standouts, and more.</p> <p>First, let's see who came out of the gates swinging.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> [caption id="attachment_201134" align="alignright" width="350"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2022/06/15-T-crop-1639x1076-1654910196.jpg"><img class="wp-image-201134" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2022/06/15-T-crop-1639x1076-1654910196-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="350" height="230" /></a> Premier 15 Trabuco[/caption] <p><strong>Premier 15 Trabuco</strong></p> <p>We'll have a few different Premier teams to talk about when we get to our post-event standouts. 15 Trabuco boasts an unblemished record heading into Saturday, and we should see even more separation this weekend in a wide-open 15s race.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>ROCKC 16-1</strong></p> <p>That was quite a first impression from [program_tooltip program_id='431573' first='RockCity' last=''].</p> <p>I mentioned in my event previews that I had yet to see this club perform in live action. Friday's "debut" certainly did not disappoint. ROCKC 16-1 was particularly dominant, winning every set in its unique three-team pool that played three sets per match. We'll have standouts aplenty to discuss from this club when we're done here in Pontiac.</p> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">Impressive opener for <a href="https://x.com/[program_tooltip program_id='431573' first='RockCity' last='']VBC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@[program_tooltip program_id='431573' first='RockCity' last='']VBC</a> 16-1 this morning!<br /> <br /> Another club that I'm excited to see for the first time this year. <a href="https://x.com/hashtag/PDTheFinale?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PDTheFinale</a> <a href="https://t.co/6GW5EEc61a">pic.x.com/6GW5EEc61a</a></p> — Austin Kingsley (@KingsleyATK) <a href="https://x.com/KingsleyATK/status/1535244948257349633?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 10, 2022</a></blockquote> <p><script async src="https://platform.x.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>AVC CLE Rox 16 Blue</strong></p> <p>Here is one of those teams that are returning to the Circuit after an April outing at The Open. 16 Blue backed up a runner-up finish in Cleveland with a 3-0 start in Michigan. With this team's offensive balance and solid ball control, I'd expect AVC to be a big title contender in the 16s division.</p> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">A return trip to the Circuit for <a href="https://x.com/avcvolleyball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@avcvolleyball</a> 16 Blue.<br /> <br /> Off to a fast start this morning! <a href="https://x.com/hashtag/PDTheFinale?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PDTheFinale</a> <a href="https://t.co/z2POpPnYHl">pic.x.com/z2POpPnYHl</a></p> — Austin Kingsley (@KingsleyATK) <a href="https://x.com/KingsleyATK/status/1535257096903700480?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 10, 2022</a></blockquote> <p><script async src="https://platform.x.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>A2 16 Green</strong></p> <p>16 Green is definitely on the upswing since its last appearance on the Circuit.</p> <p>Some quick tempo had the frontcourt humming en route to an undefeated opening day. More impressive is the fact that 16 Green did in a pool featuring three 17s teams. That's a nice way to respond to a tough challenge, and A2 will be battle-tested for the rest of the weekend.</p> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">A lot of positive momentum from <a href="https://x.com/A2_Volleyball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@A2_Volleyball</a> 16 Green this morning.<br /> <br /> Carlee Thompson running a smooth offense from the setter spot. <a href="https://x.com/hashtag/PDTheFinale?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PDTheFinale</a> <a href="https://t.co/1Nn31iHeN3">pic.x.com/1Nn31iHeN3</a></p> — Austin Kingsley (@KingsleyATK) <a href="https://x.com/KingsleyATK/status/1535267309098524673?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 10, 2022</a></blockquote> <p><script async src="https://platform.x.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Krush VBC 16 National</strong></p> <p>16 National joins some of the other teams on this feature in the "triple sweep Friday" category. Krush will face stiff tests as the weekend progresses, but so far, so good.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>A2 17 Green</strong></p> <p>17 Green came out with some fantastic energy in Pontiac, and that might have something to do with the big cast of supporters cheering the team on. In any case, mark this down as another A2 squad that will have a big say in our 17s/18s champion this weekend.</p> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">A grueling battle goes in favor of <a href="https://x.com/A2_Volleyball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@A2_Volleyball</a> 17 Green!<br /> <br /> Quite a showing for both of these A2 squads at <a href="https://x.com/hashtag/PDTheOpen?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PDTheOpen</a>. <a href="https://t.co/Ip2ddah7dh">pic.x.com/Ip2ddah7dh</a></p> — Austin Kingsley (@KingsleyATK) <a href="https://x.com/KingsleyATK/status/1535283898657165313?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 10, 2022</a></blockquote> <p><script async src="https://platform.x.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
