New Scouting Opportunities at the Prep Dig Finale

This feature is about things I don't know.

I'm making the trek from Nebraska to Michigan to cover this weekend's Prep Dig Finale, and "newness" will be a prevailing theme for me. Being an outsider in the Great Lakes means that many of the event's participants will be completely new to me. It's far from daunting, though, as this is what club volleyball event coverage is all about. We're going to do a bit of learning this weekend.

So, as I look through the recently released , here are a few clubs and teams that I'm anxious to get eyes on for the first time.

Premier 18 Onitsuka

We'll see plenty of Ohio challengers hopping over to Pontiac this weekend, and Premier will make the quick trip from southern Toledo to be there for the Finale. 18 Onitsuka boasts some physical hitters that jump out on film right away. Elizabeth Ziegler will likely lead the way at opposite for Premier, while Amyah Cooper and Nadia Miller have shown great poise and technique at the middle blocker spot.

Krush VBC 17 National

Nestled north of South Bend in "Michiana," Krush VBC 17 National brings a track record of regional tournament success to the Prep Dig Finale. I look forward to seeing pin hitters like Takiya Cornelius and Nisa Shier go to work for this group, and I feel good about Krush's ability to win in a division that features some nice team variety.

ROCKC 17-1

[program_tooltip program_id='431573' first='RockCity' last=''] is another Ohio Valley club that joins us from the east side of Cleveland in Mentor, OH. This 17s squad made appearances at MEQ and NEQ this year and is looking to take another step forward on the Prep Dig Circuit.

TeamD 17-Red

Time to see if Team Detroit can make a bit of a home stand. There's reason to believe that 17-Red can put out a good showing, too. Setter [player_tooltip player_id="173605" first="Laney" last="Burns"] has been running a nice offense this year and has plenty of good attacking options to lean on. Khayla Moore and Kendall Lozzi are just a couple of the pin hitters I'll be looking out for when 17-Red competes on our Circuit.

Legacy 16-Elite East

Legacy's expansive footprint is evidenced by the number of entries they have in this Circuit event. Many of these Legacy teams will be new to me, and 16-Elite East is one of those that I'll be watching. Sophia Payne's leadership at setter should stand out in Pontiac, and the backcourt tandem of Megan Renaud and Emerson Straub might make ball control the strength of this East lineup.

Krush VBC 16 National

This Krush roster has put together quite a championship run at regional events this spring, so I'm excited to see what has sparked 16 National's success. Marley Annis immediately stands out on film for the six-rotation skills she contributes to this squad. We've also seen lefty opposite Drew Glaser add some consistent offense on the right pin, while Kadence Brumitt has terminated on some tough swings on the left. Stay tuned to find out who else will emerge from Krush VBC's talented 16s lineup.

Mintonette m.54

The sheer size, scale, and depth of Mintonette are pretty remarkable. Mintonette m.54 will offer a great opportunity to expand my knowledge of Ohio's 2025s in the wake of our Cleveland Circuit event at the end of April.
