This will feature the best of the best players in the entire country and we couldn’t be more excited to run it. Over the past 4 years, Prep Dig showcases have hosted over 2,500 prospects in front of hundreds of college coaches from across the country. In addition to watching the showcase in-person or via BallerTV, coverage of this event will be made available to hundreds of our college coach subscribers on PrepDig.com.
The list is growing so fast of awesome players who are signing up. I cannot believe the amount of talent that will be on these courts. This series of articles will preview some amazing players who are already signed up for the Showcase. Seeing these players in person is going to give us a perfect perspective of how they move, how the ball rebounds off of their platform or hands, and other intricate aspects of their skill-sets. Here are a few players that I cannot wait to see live in person and take them through drills.
Jocelyn Copple Jocelyn Copple 6'2" | MB Edmond Santa Fe | 2024 State OK [2024] 6-1 Outside (HS: Edmond Santa Fe/Club: Oklahoma Charge/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Jocelyn is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig Oklahoma State Rankings, but I have my eye on her for sure. She plays for Edmond Santa Fe High School and also club for the nationally known Oklahoma Charge program. We profiled her in a team article recently previewing them for nationals. This will be the third time I see her in person this year and I cannot wait because I get to take her through blocking and hitting drills and see how she moves on the court. She has a great strong frame for a rising junior middle blocker that a lot of coaches will love. Her strength is definitely at the net and she can hold her own against high-level competition. She gets her arms well above the net and presses well to seal it from opposing attackers. Jocelyn establishes a solid presence along the net that makes hitters have to move their attack around her. This is good because it sets up the diggers around her to be put in a great position to dig the ball now that it will be funneled to them. We are looking forward to seeing her go against some of the best competition in the nation during this showcase.
Hannah Dobbs Hannah Dobbs 6'0" | OH Toronto | 2024 State OH [2024] 6-0 Outside/Right Side (HS: Toronto/Club: Pittsburgh Elite /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Hannah is currently ranked as the 10th best overall prospect and the 4th best outside hitter in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig Ohio State Rankings. She plays for Toronto High School and also club for Pittsburgh Elite. I am super excited to watch such a highly ranked recruit from Ohio does against some of the best competition in the nation. She is a lengthy attacker who can play multiple positions along the net. What I love about her offensive skill-set is how she adds so much more power to her attack by crunching her abs at the point of contact. Her wrist snap and the adding of that crunch of her core creates so much extra pop on the ball that makes it very difficult for opposing diggers to slow down or stop. She has a wicked float serve that stifles serve receivers. There is no wonder that she made All-Region and All-Conference, 11-timem player of the match and team captain in her sophomore year. She is on the road to success and I personally cannot wait to watch her in person at the showcase.
Quinn Groves Quinn Groves 5'5" | DS/L Papillion-La Vista South | 2024 State NE [2024] 5-4 Libero (HS: Papillion South/Club: Premier/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Quinn is currently ranked as the 103rd overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Nebraska State Rankings. She is a libero who plays for Papillion South High School and also for the Premier Nebraska volleyball club program. Miss Groves is a fantastic defender who can do a lot of things on the court for her squad. She is athletic and quick enough to roam the baseline out of the middle back position for Premier 16 Silver. It takes a special player to do this at her height due to do the amount of area she has to cover so it is a testament to her decision-making abilities. She does have experience out of left back also and always keeps her head on a swivel and eyes on the setter as the other team has the ball. I like that she does not leave her base until the setter has released the ball. This shows a lot of discipline in the position since a lot of younger players like to leave early and get burned on setter dumps. She has a solid serve and is not afraid to hit the floor if she has to.
