This will feature the best of the best players in the entire country and we couldn’t be more excited to run it. Over the past 4 years, Prep Dig showcases have hosted over 2,500 prospects in front of hundreds of college coaches from across the country. In addition to watching the showcase in-person or via BallerTV, coverage of this event will be made available to hundreds of our college coach subscribers on PrepDig.com.
This series of articles will preview some amazing players who are already signed up for the Showcase. We will have some of the best talent from across the nation on these courts. Seeing these players in person is going to give us a perfect perspective of how they move, how the ball rebounds off of their platform or hands, and other intricate aspects of their skill-sets. Here are a few players that I cannot wait to see live in person and take them through drills.
Alana Villela [2024] 6-1 Middle (HS: California/Club: NorCal VBC/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Alana is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She is a solid middle from California High School and also plays club for NorCal VBC. Miss Villela is a member of the famed ten-foot club meaning she can approach touch ten feet high in the air. This is a coveted stat from most college coaches and I cannot wait to see that vertical in action on the court during our drills. Alana runs one of the best slides I have seen in a while with tons of power. She can throttle the ball during the slide like an outside with tons of time. Most young players take time to perfect it, but she has it down to an art form. Most middles specialize in one or two routes, but Miss Villela is very versatile in the fact that she can run every route in the middle route tree very effectively. Just when you think that is all…she can hit right side also! I am very intrigued to watch this youngster and her raw natural power against the best talent in the nation in this showcase.
Jordyn Tynsky Jordyn Tynsky 5'8" | DS/L Guyer | 2024 State #65 Nation TX [2024] 5-8 Libero (HS: Guyer/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We currently have her ranked as the 40th best overall prospect and 3rd best overall libero in the Nation according to our recently released class of 2024 National Rankings. She is also listed as the 11th best overall prospect and the top libero in the 2024 Class according to our Texas State Rankings. She plays for Guyer high school and Drive Nation volleyball club. I wrote an article on her back in December when I got a chance to take her through drills in person and here is a little from what I wrote, “I have heard some amazing things about her from coaches, parents, and players over the past year and a half. We were anxious to get her into the gym to see her in person for ourselves. I can honestly say that she did not disappoint one bit. I have watched tons of video and analyzed her play quite extensively but seeing her in person gives you another perspective. Her range is something that is out of this world. There is not a ball that will land anywhere near her zone while she is in the back row. This kid is a defensive wonder and any coach would love to get a crack at coaching a player that is this ready to sprawl out on the floor for the needs of the team. Being a libero is a thankless job sometimes, but so necessary to any championship level team. She is the best libero in the age group for a few reasons and when you watch her in person it is very apparent why. There were many high fives, tons of hand shakes and lots of smiles going around in the gym last Sunday at the Expo. There was only one hug that occurred. And wouldn’t you know it…it came from the huge warm heart of Jordyn.” I was lucky enough to watch her multiple times in person this season and she never disappointed. She was born to play volleyball and born to play the libero position. I am very excited to take her through drills once again and have her showcase her skills for hundreds of college coaches across the nation. Whoever picks this young lady up on their roster in a few years will be one lucky program.
Aubrey Lyssy Aubrey Lyssy 5'10" | S Madison | 2025 TX [2025] 5-10 Setter (HS: Madison/Club: San Antonio Magic/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Aubrey is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is a solid setter from Madison High School and also plays club for San Antonio Magic. I have been researching Miss Lyssy this year and am happy to report that she is progressing in the position very well since we last saw her at one of our showcases. She has great technique and superb posture when dishing the rock. You can really tell just how coachable she is by watching her “finish” on each set. She keeps her arms and hands frozen after her release repeatedly, which means she has a lot of self-discipline. She also reads the opposition very well on defense while in right back defense and puts herself in a great position to dig the ball. I am really interested in seeing how she connects with some of the best hitters in the country at the showcase. Stay tuned for more on Aubrey as we will have pictures and more coverage.
