What better way to celebrate the end of the first block of the USAV National tournament and kick off the second block than to host a showcase of some of the best up and coming talent from all across the country!
In a collaboration between USA volleyball and Prep Dig, we were able to create one awesome event full of some top notch talents, coaches and scouts to play some volleyball and show off some skills. The best part too, there’s a whole other session after this one to kick off the final block of nationals on June 30th too!
But for now, let’s take a look at who impressed at the USAV x Prep Dig showcase, Session I.
Baylee Doolan – 5’8 OH – Liberty Elite
One of the biggest attackers of the night, Baylee Doolan may be undersized a bit but her explosive nature and wicked whip of an arm does her big time. Doolan shows off a great ability of an all-around game with great ball control as well.
Isabelle Swain – 5’7 OH – Princeton
I love a kid that will do whatever, whenever for the benefit of the team, or in this case, to just be seen on the court! But Isabelle Swain has the overall game to back up this willingness to jump in. With a vocal presence on the court and a large leap, her arm swing is a work in progress, but once in the groove, she’s pretty elite.
Joanna Guerrero Joanna Guerrero 5'5" | DS/L Tom C. Clark | 2025 TX – 5’5 L = San Antonio Magic
Joanna Guerrero Joanna Guerrero 5'5" | DS/L Tom C. Clark | 2025 TX was a stand out early on in the evening, as girls get comfortable and used to the showcases, she was ready to go from ball one. Guerrero has great ball control and has an eye for the offense, and with her vocality on the court, she’s the dream libero.
Laya Krishnakumar – 5’5 S – HP STL
This player has a lot of upside and with my biggest advice being is being a loud presence on the court. Laya Krishnakumar has the makings of being a top notch setter. She’s a go-getter on the court and never gives up a pursuit on the ball.
Giada Obregon Giada Obregon 5'3" | DS/L Floresville | 2025 TX – 5’3 L – South Texas
If volleyball doesn’t work out for Giada Obregon Giada Obregon 5'3" | DS/L Floresville | 2025 TX (which it should), this girl needs to get herself onto the track. Obregon is FAST. As a libero with such speed and fast-twitch play to her game, she can cover a lot of ground and go after some of the toughest balls thrown her way.
Giselle Orellana – 5’10 OH – San Antonio Magic
There were a LOT of big, powerful pins at the USAV Showcase. Giselle Orellana is one of those players who plays with such physicality and power on the left side. She has a heavy arm and a big eye for angles, looking to hit a variety of angles with ease.
Natalia Silva – 5’9 OH – San Antonio Magic
When looking at her profile and then watching her play, Natalia Silva is very impressive. Listed at 5’9, she seems much lengthier than that with a longer wing span. Silva has a whip of an arm that can bounce the ball with ease but knows just how to hit the deep shots with some pace.
Laila Chadwick – 5’7 OH – Metro
Listed as 5’7 seems like a joke when you watch Laila Chadwick play. Her leaping abilities are out of this world and Chadwick already knows how to use it to her advantage. Getting so high, she was showing off her range of shots at such height with little to slow it down.
Britton Finley – 6’1 OH – Frisco Flyers
Watch out below when you’re trying to defend this attacker. Britton Finley has one heavy arm that was heard booming around the gym at the showcase. With a healthy jump and her power, Finley was going off at the showcase on Sunday night.
Gracie Furlong Gracie Furlong 5'10" | OH Galena | 2025 IL – 5’9 OH – Six Pack
It’s one thing to knock the air out of the ball when thrown to you, but how can you play when you have to take more than the last contact? That is probably what was most impressive about Gracie Furlong Gracie Furlong 5'10" | OH Galena | 2025 IL ’s play. Showing off some great ball control and pass to attack transition, Furlong was on top of it.
