We did a piece last week on Rockwood Thunder 15 Elite capturing a national championship. Though they walked away with the only championship, there were other teams representing the Show Me state who had positive showings.
HPSTL 15 Royal: Open
When we checked in with 15 Royal during the tournament, they were fresh off the heels of a tough 2-3 pool that placed them in 5th place. Their finish placed them in the second grouping of pool play, which essentially knocked them out of contention for a championship. They rebounded though winning four of their final five matches including a win over Kansas City team Mavs KC 15-1. They would eventually win both of their flight matches. Ella Keeven Ella Keeven 5'8" | S Marquette | 2025 State MO continued her steady play over the four days.
Mavs 816 15-1: National
While Rockwood 15 Elite went and took home the top prize, Mavs 816 15-1 didn’t go down without a fight over the four days. They started the tournament with a 3-2 pool record which kept them in the hunt. Their pool was brutal on day 3 and they dropped matches to Premier Nebraska 15 Gold and Club Ignit Select 15 Blue. They didn’t hang their heads and rebounded with a crossover match win over SA Juniors to send them to the bronze bracket where they dropped their lone match in three. Mavs would finish 4-5 and tied for 19th place. Libero Brookelyn Hatton shined along with Madeline Sallee Madeline Sallee 5'10" | RS St. Teresa's | 2025 State MO .
Mavs 816 15-2: National
Over four days, Mavs 816 15-2 was able to walk away .500 with a 5-5 record. In pool play, they sprinted out the gate with three straight wins before dropping their final two matches. 3-2 wasn’t enough to keep them in grouping one, however. A 1-2 record in their next pool sent them to flight 4 where they split those two matches.
HPSTL 15 Orange: National
15 Orange had a tough go over the four days but picked up a ton of national experience playing strong competition. Their sole victory came in their second match of the tournament.
Club North 15-1: Liberty
The 15th place tie was where Mizuno Club North 15-1 finished after four days in Indianapolis. The 3-2 pool record kept them alive in title contention but a disappointing finish in their re-pool and a crossover match defeat knocked them out. Their final record would be 3-6.
Invasion 15 Black: Liberty
Invasion finished a slot ahead of Club North in 14th behind the play of Riley Hayes and Madison Harris Madison Harris 5'4" | S Truman | 2025 State MO . Their path was strikingly similar to Club North’s, going 3-2 in the pool and dropping their next pool and crossover matches. They did rebound in their first flight match getting a much-needed win before bowing out to the Iowa Rockets.
KC Legends 15-1: American
The Legends went 4-5 over four days to end up tied for 31st with Rockwood Thunder 15 Navy who we’ll talk about later. They were able to earn all of their wins in pool play going 4-3 before falling in a crossover match that ended in a 15-10 third set. Jordyn Krebs Jordyn Krebs 6'0" | RS Blue Springs South | 2025 State MO had flashes of strong play throughout the tourney in the clips we checked out.
417 Juniors 15-1: American
A 5-5 showing was impressive for the Springfield area program in Indy. Their 3-4 record in pool play included a couple of back-and-forth three-set fights. They did etch out a crossover win to send them to Flight 3 where they won their first match before falling to the Texas Pistols in straight sets of -15. Chloe Judd Chloe Judd 6'1" | MB Nixa | 2025 State MO ‘s stock increased over the four days.
Club North 15-2: American
15-2 gained some valuable experience in their four days of action that saw them garner one victory. They found some grit to win that match after coming back to win a 26-24 second set after an ugly opening set. They kept that fight going winning the third 15-13.
Rockwood Thunder 15 Navy: American
As mentioned earlier, 15 Navy tied for 31st with a 4-5 record. They also went 4-3 in pool play before dropping their remaining matches in epic three-set showdowns.
Core STL U15 Navy: Freedom
Core finished in the top 15 tied for 13th place. Like some of the teams mentioned above, 4-5 was their final record also. Five of their nine matches went three sets! All but one of the ended in two-point margins with the other being 15-12. This experience will surely help this team come next club season.
